First Sergeant Douglas K. Lockard

First Sergeant Douglas K. Lockard is a native of Port Huron, Michigan. He entered the Delayed Entry Program in 2005 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina in 2006. Upon graduation, Private Lockard was promoted meritoriously to Private First Class and went on to attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry - East at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Following MCT, he attended his Military Occupational Specialty training and received the designation of Basic Landing Support Specialist (0481) aboard Camp Johnson, Jacksonville, North Carolina.  
 
Private First Class Lockard proceeded to his first duty station and was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 3, Landing Support Company, Okinawa, Japan where he was promoted to Lance Corporal. During this assignment, Lance Corporal Lockard deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was promoted to the rank of Corporal serving in the billet of Team Leader and Rotary - Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group NCO. He would go on to earn the additional occupational specialties for Combat Marksmanship Coach (0933) as well Combat Marksmanship Trainer (0931).
 
In March 2010, Corporal Lockard received Permanent Change of Assignment orders and was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 37, and subsequently received Temporary Additional Duty to Combat Logistics Battalion 3 from Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, were he would be promoted to the rank of Sergeant and deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and hold the billets of Fixed and Rotary Wing - Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group NCOIC and Flight line Operations Chief.  
 
In October 2011, Sergeant Lockard transferred to 4th Landing Support Battalion, Beach and Terminal Operations Company, Detachment Bravo, as Inspector-Instructor Staff in Ceiba, Puerto Rico aboard Naval Air Station Roosevelt Roads. Serving as the Operations and Logistics Chief and the only active duty MOS Subject Matter Expert on station.
 
In November 2013, Sergeant Lockard transferred to Combat Logistics Battalion 7 located aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California. He would be promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in 2015 and deploy as the Logistics Combat Element, Landing Support SNCOIC with the Special Purpose-Marine Air Ground Task Force to both Iraq and Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
 
Staff Sergeant Lockard reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Iwakuni, Japan in March of 2017 as the Logistics Chief and in 2018, he would be promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant; resulting in his Primary MOS transferring to Embarkation and Logistics Chief (0491). During this time, Gunnery Sergeant Lockard served in the billets of Squadron Logistics Chief and Company First Sergeant for Headquarters Company as well as for Engineer Company where he would take part numerous large scale exercises within the Indo-Pacific such as Valiant Shield and Vigilant Ace as the Camp Commandant and Senior Enlisted Leader. 
 
In February 2020, Gunnery Sergeant Lockard received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 31 as part the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit where he would serve in the capacity of Maneuver Company First Sergeant and deploy with the America Amphibious Ready Group throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command AO. During his tenure, he would go on to earn the additional occupational specialty of Ground Safety Officer (8012).
 
In November 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Lockard reported for duty to 3d Landing Support Battalion, where he served as the Landing Support Chief in Alpha Company until being promoted to his current rank of First Sergeant in April 2022. Upon his promotion, he was retained at 3d Landing Support Battalion and assumed the role of Landing Support Company First Sergeant. First Sergeant Lockard received orders in May 2023 to 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, Tampa, Florida as Inspector-Instructor Staff where he currently serves.
 
First Sergeant Lockard's personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various other Service and Campaign medals.
