First Sergeant Younger is a native of Fort Myers, Florida, and graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot-East, Parris Island in 2002. He reported to Camp Lejeune, NC, where he attended Infantry Training Battalion, School Of Infantry-East and follow-on instruction at Anti-Armor School. First Sergeant Youngers' assignments include Operating Force tours in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Marine Divisions. He has led units at every level from Fire Team to Company and also served as a Scout Platoon Sergeant, TOW Platoon Commander, Anti-Armor Company Gunny, Civil Affairs Operations Chief, Civil Affairs Detachment Chief, Civil-Military Operations Subject Matter Expert, and Civil Affairs Group Gunny.
From 2004 to 2010, as an Anti-Armor NCO with both 8th Tank Battalion, and 4th Tank Battalion, he conducted multiple deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon return from his second deployment, First Sergeant Younger was appointed Platoon Sergeant of Scout Platoon-Africa, 4th Tank Battalion, and deployed to Morocco in 2012. First Sergeant Younger was subsequently appointed as the Company Gunny in 2013.
After the Marine Corps FSRG in 2013, First Sergeant Younger lateral moved to Marine Corps Civil Affairs, and was assigned to the 4th Civil Affairs Group, Hialeah, Florida. As a Civil Affairs SNCO, First Sergeant Younger conducted multiple Civil-Military Operations deployments as a Civil Affairs Team Chief to South America, Latin America, and Caribbean nations, in support of US Southern Command. After inheriting additional global areas of responsibility, First Sergeant Younger then deployed to Europe and Africa in support of US Africa Command, US European Command, and NATO.
In 2020, First Sergeant Younger assumed his current position as the Company First Sergeant and Senior Enlisted Leader at Company D, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, Tampa, Florida. First Sergeant Younger has served tours outside the Operating Forces to include Civil-Military Operations Chief, Special Purpose MAGTF-Southern Command, Civil-Military Operations Chief, Marine Information Group, II MEF, and Civil-Military Operations Chief Liaison, G-39 Fires and Effects Coordination Center, II MEF (Forward). First Sergeant Youngers' personal awards include the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal w/ 1 silver star (in lieu of 6th award), Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon as well as various other unit and service awards.
