First Sergeant Jenkins is a native of Baltimore City Maryland. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 8 September 2003 and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina on 4 February 2004. PVT Jenkins reported to Marine Combat Training, and then to his Military Occupational School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina for the Organizational Automotive Mechanic with Logistics Operation School.
In August 2004, PFC Jenkins checked into Bulk Fuel Bravo Company, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Wilmington Delaware, and was assigned to Head Quarters Platoon. While stationed at B Co, 6th ESB, In January 2005, PFC Jenkins was promoted to LCpl and served as a Motor Transport Mechanic and was selected to be 3rd squad fire team leader and Quality Control Inspector. In 2006, LCpl Jenkins was hand selected to be part of one of the first groups to go over to England and train with the British Royal Marines and Army Commando's throughout multiple cities. Upon returning to 6th ESB, LCpl Jenkins was Meritoriously promoted to Cpl. and became the squad Leader for Motor Transport section.
In 2007, Cpl Jenkins was chosen by the company staff to attend Martial Arts Instructor Course. After successfully completing the course, Cpl Jenkins trained over half the his company to there next higher belt level. After completing Corporals resident course in 2008, Cpl Jenkins was promoted to the rank of Sgt, and then was nominated by his peers to become Head Quarters Platoon Sergeant and Maintenance Chief. Over the next subsequent years, Sgt Jenkins continued training Marines in all companies through out 6th ESB, 4th MLG. Holding many key billets such as QC inspector, Hazmat NCO, Dispatch NCO, Truck Master, Load Master and Operations Chief.
In May 2012, Sgt Jenkins was activated for Operations Enduring Freedom. Sgt Jenkins was injured at 29 Palms California while conducting Enhanced MOJAVE Viper Training prior to deployment. After sent back to his command, Sgt Jenkins had surgery followed by a year and a half of physical therapy. After Physical Evaluation, Sgt Jenkins was able to return to full duty.
In April 2014, Sgt Jenkins was Promoted to Staff Sergeant. then was transferred to 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, ES Company 4th MARDIV. He served as the Maintenance Chief, Platoon Sergeant and Operations Chief.
In 2020, Staff Sergeant Jenkins was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. And was nominated by his peers to take on the role as the company Gunnery Sergeant. During his assignment he also acted as the Company First Sergeant for over a year.
In August 2023, Gunnery Sergeant Jenkins was promoted to First Sergeant and was transfered to 4th LAR, Echo Company in Syracuse NY where he will assume the role of the Company's Senior Enlisted Leader.
First Sergeant Jenkins's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd award) and a Letter of Commendation.
