First Sergeant Jason J. Gutierrez

First Sergeant Jason Jeremy Gutierrez is native of Baytown, Texas. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in May of 2001 and attend recruit training aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. In September of 2001 after completion of recruit training, PFC Gutierrez reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT) aboard Camp Pendleton, California.

PFC Gutierrez completed MCT and received orders to Camp Johnson, North Carolina to attend the Basic Warehousing Course where he attained the MOS of 3051. In November 2001, PFC Gutierrez reported to 3d Battalion 11th Marines (3/11), Twenty-nine Palms, California where he served a warehouse clerk. In 2003, LCpl Gutierrez's deployed to Iraq with Headquarters Battery in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. LCpl Gutierrez deployed once again in February of 2004 to Iraq and was promoted to the rank of Corporal in May 2004.

In April 2005, Cpl Gutierrez was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and returned to Texas where he attended Lee College and worked as an Industrial/residential electrician. In April 2006, Cpl Gutierrez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant while serving in the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR).

In December 2006, Sergeant Gutierrez returned to Active Duty and was directed to report to Combat Logistics Regiment-35 (CLR-35), Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Distribution Center Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. In April of 2008, Sergeant Gutierrez was transferred to Combat Logistics Battalion-31 in order to deploy with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and served as the Warehouse Chief.

In December 2009, Sergeant Gutierrez was approved for a Lateral Move to the MOS of Supply Administrative Clerk (3043) and received orders to Camp Johnson, North Carolina for follow on training. In January 2010, First Sergeant Gutierrez graduated 3rd in his class and received the MOS of 3043.

In March 2010, Sergeant Gutierrez was directed to report to Marine Special Operations Support Group, Detachment West, Marine Special Operations Command where he served a Administrative Chief.

In February 2011, Sergeant Gutierrez was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and in January 2013, reported to Class 2-13, Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California.

In March 2013, Staff Sergeant Gutierrez graduated from Drill Instructor School and was subsequently assigned to Co A, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. He served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill 
Instructor and Chief Drill Instructor completing seven cycles. In September 2015, Staff Sergeant Gutierrez reported to Receiving Company, Support Battalion where he served as Night Processing Chief Drill Instructor.

In November 2015, Staff Sergeant Gutierrez was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.

In April 2016 Gunnery Sergeant Gutierrez was directed to report to 7th Communication Battalion, Okinawa Japan where he served as the Supply Chief and Headquarters Company First Sergeant.

In December 2018 Gunnery Sergeant Gutierrez was selected for promotion to the rank of First Sergeant and promoted on March 15, 2019.

May 1, 2019, 1stSgt Gutierrez reported to Charlie Company, 1stBattalion, and 24th Marines were he currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant.

First Sergeant Gutierrez personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Drill Instructor Ribbon. First Sergeant Gutierrez is also a graduate of Survive Evade Resist and Escape (SERE) School.
