First Sergeant Clark enlisted in the Marine Corps in March, 2003 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. Upon completion of Recruit Training, Private Clark was transferred to the School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton, CA where he completed Marine Combat Training. Upon completion Private Clark reported to Fort Leonard-Wood, MO for Military Occupational Specialty School where he obtained the Military Occupational Specialty of 3531 Motor Vehicle Operator and 3533 Logistical Vehicle Systems Operator. After completion of training, Private First Class Clark was assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Transportation Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group Camp Lejeune, NC where he deployed in February, 2004 support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In February, 2005 Lance Corporal Clark was transferred to Charlie Company, Combat Logistics Battalion-8, 2nd Marine Logistics Group and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon completion of deployment Lance Corporal Clark volunteered to extend and augment the replacing unit for his third combat deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this deployment he achieved the rank of Corporal combat meritoriously.
In March, 2006 Corporal Clark completed his deployment and was transferred to Support Company, Combat Logistics Regiment-2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group. Corporal Clark served as the Quality Control Non Commissioned Officer. Corporal Clark was selected to the rank of Sergeant in November, 2006. Sergeant Clark was placed in the Inactive Ready Reserve in March, 2007. In June, 2008 Sergeant Clark reentered active duty at Recruiting Station Indianapolis, IN.
Sergeant Clark received orders to Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Battalion-8, 2nd Marine Logistics Group where he deployed in 2009 and 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon his return Sergeant Clark received orders to Motor Transportation Company, II Marine Expeditionary Force where he served as the Chief Licensing Examiner. In November, 2012 Sergeant Clark was selected to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Staff Sergeant Clark received orders to Basic Recruiters School, San Diego, CA in March, 2013. After successful completion of school, he fulfilled the duties of a Recruiter at the Sixth Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station, Jacksonville, FL, Recruiting Substation Brunswick, GA, Permanent Contact Station Yulee, FL. He was recognized as the Rookie Recruiter of the year in 2014. Staff Sergeant Clark completed a successful tour of duty in recruiting in June, 2016.
Staff Sergeant Clark received orders to Truck Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division in July, 2016 where he served as a Platoon Sergeant for 3rd platoon until December, 2016. Staff Sergeant Clark was selected as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Truck Company. In September, 2017 Staff Sergeant Clark was selected to his present rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In January, 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Clark received orders to 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion, Marine Raider Support Group. In December, 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Clark deployed in support of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Special Operations Component Command Afghanistan where he served as the Watch Officer and the SNCOIC for the J-3 Combined Situational Awareness Room where he worked hand in hand with Afghanistan National Military representatives providing critical air support and guidance for all coalition and Afghanistan forward units in crises.
In June, 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Clark returned back to 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion, Marine Raider Support Group where served as the Company First Sergeant for Logistics’ Company. In March, 2021 Gunnery Sergeant Clark was promoted to his current rank of First Sergeant and executed orders to serve as the Inspector Instructor First Sergeant at Weapons, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Perrysburg, Ohio.
First Sergeant Clark holds a Bachelor’s degree in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University. His personal awards include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 2 gold stars in lieu of third award, Joint Service Achievement Medal with “C” device, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 4 gold stars in lieu of 5th award, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
