Captain Travis G. Korhorn

Captain (Capt) Korhorn is a native of Grand Rapids, MI.  He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 2018 with a B.S. in Chemistry and commissioned through the school's NROTC program.  

Travis Korhorn attended Officer Candiate School in 2018 as part of NROTC training, attended The Basic School from 2018 to 2019, and earned the MOS of 1302 from Combat Engineer Officer's Course in 2020.  He reported to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion (1st CEB) at Camp Pendleton, CA in February 2020.  2ndLt Korhorn's first billet was the S-3 Current Operations Planning Officer before being assigned as the Regimental Facilities Officer for 5th Marine Regiment.  His next billet was the Company Operations Officer for Mobility Assault Company, during which he attended Winter Mountain Engineer Course 1-21 (WMEC 1-21) at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, CA. Upon his return from WMEC 1-21, 1stLt Korhorn was assigned as the Platoon Commander for Heavy Equipment Platoon.  

In January to August 2022, 1stLt Korhorn deployed on an Individual Augmentee assignment to Jordan as the J-3 Battle Captain for Combined Special Operations Joint Task Force - Levant (CSOJTF-L) in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Defeat ISIS operations in the Levant region. Upon his return to 1st CEB, 1stLt Korhorn was assigned as the Headquarters and Service Company Executive Officer.

1stLt Korhorn was accepted for accession into the Active Reserve as a 3002 in 2022 and received orders to Combat Logistics Regiment  4 (CLR 4) in Kansas City, MO as their Supply Officer. Capt Korhorn reported to CLR 4 in February 2023 before attending Supply Chain Management Officer Course (SCMOC) in March 2023.  Capt Korhorn graduated SCMOC and returned to CLR 4 in June 2023 where he currently serves as the unit's Supply Officer, S4 Officer, and Headquarters Company Inspector-Instructor.

Capt Korhorn's military education includes: Combat Engineer Officer's Course 7-19, Winter Mountain Engineer Course 1-21, Watch Officer Course, Introduction to Space 23D, Supply Chain Management Officer Course 2 - 23, and Basic Total Force Integration Staff Training. Capt Korhorn is currently enrolled in online Expeditionary Warfare School.

Capt Korhorn's personal awards include: National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
