First Sergeant John A. Trickler
Inspector - Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
3RD FORCE RECONNAISSANCE COMPANY

First Sergeant Trickler is a native of Townsend, TN and entered recruit training at MCRD, Parris Island in August 2005. In February 2006, after attending Infantry Training School, School of Infantry-East, Private First Class Trickler received the MOS 0311 and was assigned orders to 1st Battalion 6th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, NC, where he held the billets of rifleman, to Team leader to Squad leader, to Platoon Sergeant. While assigned to 1st Battalion 6th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, Private First Class Trickler deployed to Ramedi Iraq, and participated in Operation Inherent Resolve. 2008 Corporal Trickler deployed on the 24th MEU to Garmsir Afghanistan where he participated in Operations Asada Wosa.

In December 2009, Sergeant Trickler deployed to Marjah Afghanistan with 1st Battalion 6th Marine Regiment. In support of Operation Moshtarak.

In Oct 2010, Sergeant Trickler received orders to Advanced Infantry Training Battalion (AITB) School of Infantry East Martial Arts. While apart of AITB Sergeant Trickler supported Operation Bold Alligator and trained over 18 countries in Martial arts.

In June 2012, Sergeant Trickler received orders to Basic Recruiters School. Upon graduation Sergeant Trickler received orders to Recruiting Station Des Moines Iowa. Worked from recruiter to Detachment Commander then transferred to the Officer Selection Assistant and held the billet of Officer Selection Officer.

In June 2015, Staff Sergeant Trickler received orders to 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 21st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, CA, where he held the billets of a Security Platoon Sergeant, and Platoon Commander Combined Anti Armor Team, Company Gunnery Sergeant. Operations he supported included SsangYong with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and Operation Active Endeavor with the 15th MEU.

In July of 2018 GySgt Trickler was forward deployed to Okinawa Japan with the Staff Academy. Held the billets of Basic Faculty Advisor to Master Faculty advisor and course Chief. Was the lead for Warfighting, and History for the Staff Academy Detachment. In July of 2020 GySgt Trickler was selected to be apart of the Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group (MCSCG). Held billets as the Assistant operations chief, and Operations Chief.

In February of 2022, he was frocked to First Sergeant and received orders as the Inspector & Instructor First Sergeant for 3d Reconnaissance Company, 4th Marine Division in Mobile, AL where he assumes his current duties.

First Sergeant Trickler Military Education include: Infantry Squad Leader Course, Formal School Instructor Course, Recruiters school, Officer Selection Assistant, Career Course, Infantry Unit Leaders Course, Helicopter Rope Suspension Trainer, Martial Arts Instructor Trainer Course, Coxswains, Assault Climbers Course, Faculty Advisor, Airborne School, Security Cooperation Planners Course, Marine Advisor Command and an Bachelor of Science Degree.

First Sergeant Trickler personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Valor and two stars, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and Recruiting ribbon with one Bronze Star.
