First Sergeant Robert D. Adams is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 26 December 2006. He attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina where he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. He then attended School Of Infantry (ITB) Charlie Company, at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. After graduation, First Sergeant Adams received the MOS of 0311
In June 2007, First Sergeant Adams received orders to 2d Battalion 3d Marines Fox Company, Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. In February 2008 First Sergeant Adams deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In April 2009 he deployed to Afghanistan as a squad leader in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he was Combat Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal. In November 2010 he deployed to Afghanistan as a squad leader in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In June 2011 First Sergeant Adams executed orders to Officer Candidates School, where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In June 2013 First Sergeant Adams executed orders to School Of Infantry-East where he served as a combat instructor, platoon commander, and chief instructor. In January 2015 First Sergeant Adams was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In Oct of 2016 First Sergeant Adams received orders to 1st Battalion 7th Marines where he served as a Platoon Sergeant and deployed in support of Command Joint Special operations Task Force Syria. First Sergeant Adams was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and executed orders to 3rd Battalion 4th Marines where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant of Lima Company. In July 2018 First Sergeant Adams deployed in support of Task Force South West to Helmand and Nimruz province Afghanistan.
In May of 2019 First Sergeant Adams executed orders to Marine Corps Forces Pacific where he served as the watch chief for the command operations center.
In September of 2020 First Sergeant Adams received orders to 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Golf Company and deployed on a UDP to Okinawa Japan.
In December of 2021 First Sergeant Adams was selected to the rank of First Sergeant and received orders to MWCS-18 Bravo Company where he continues to serve today.
First Sergeant Adams personal Awards include Navy Commendation with gold star in lieu of seventh award, with combat V and C device, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon with gold star in lieu of 2nd award.
