HMC(FMF) Zachary Dietrich

Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer Zachary Dietrich is a native of Tucson, Arizona. He enlisted in the United States Navy on December of 2008. Upon completion of basic training, he was ordered to Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, IL. Hospitalman Dietrich reported to Naval Branch Health Clinic, Jacksonville Florida in 2009. 

In 2011, after earning his NEC 8404 (Field Medical Service Technician), Hospital Corpsman Third Class Dietrich reported to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. In 2012, he would deploy to Helmond, Afghanistan as an attachment to STA Platoon. He was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class in 2012. From July 2013 to July 2017, Hospital Corpsman Dietrich reported to Naval Hospital Bremerton and complete his active-duty obligation.

In October 2017, Hospital Corpsman Second Class Dietrich would join the reserves and would be promoted to Petty Officer First Class in 2018. As a reservist, he has been assigned to 2/23, MWSS 471 Det B, 4th Marine Logistic Group, 6th Engineering Support Battalion. In 2021, he was selected for Chief Petty Officer and would complete the Chief season in Tucson, AZ.

Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer Dietrich’s awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal gold star, in lieu of third award, Afghanistan Campaign Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and expert rifle and pistol qualifications. Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer Dietrich graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s of Art in Psychology in 2019. He currently works as a Police Officer in Oro Valley, Arizona.
