First Sergeant Carpio enlisted in the Marine Corps in Newark, NJ and reported to Company A, First Recruit Training Battalion, MCRD Parris Island,SC in April 2007. After graduation he reported to Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Infantry Training Battalion, Alpha Company where is received the MOS of 0341 Infantry MortarMan.
Private Carpio was transferred to Golf Company 2 Battalion 25th Marines 4th Marine Division, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, from October 2007 to September 2012. During his tour at Golf Company 2/25, he deployed to Akashat, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/ Operation Enduring Freedom. Over the course of 5 years with the unit, Lcpl Carpio achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Following his tour, in 2012, Sergeant Carpio proceeded to deploy with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 13.1 in support of Embassy Reinforcement in Tripoli, Libya and an Advisor Tour with the Ugandan People Defense Force where Sergeant Carpio instructed and advised fundamental infantry training to foreign troops.
Returning from his tour, Sergeant Carpio served within Company G, as Weapons Platoon Sergeant. In 2018 Sergeant Carpio was promoted to Staff Sergeant. Where he served with a duo role of Weapons Platoon Sergeant and Company Gunnery Sergeant.
In 2019, Staff Sergeant Carpio reported to Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 19.1, where he completed a deployment serving as the Officer in Charge of Advisor Team 4 and assuming the role and responsibilities of the Ground Combat Element
Operations Chief.
In December 2020, Staff Sergeant Carpio was assigned to Company L, 3rd Battalion 25th Marines 4th Marine Division in Columbus Ohio where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant. On April 1, 2021, Staff Sergeant Carpio was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and continued to serve as the Company Gunnery Sergeant.
In October 2023 Gunnery Sergeant Carpio accepted orders serving as the MARCENT Coordination Element-Forward Command Element United Arab Emirates Senior Enlisted Leader where he operated as the MARCENT LNO for the UAE.
Returning in October 2024 Gunnery Sergeant Carpio was Frocked to the rank of First Sergeant. He was selected to serve as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Truck Company 25th Regiment in Erie, Pennsylvania
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lui of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal in lui of third award and other service and campaign awards.
