First Sergeant Timothy J. Dorminey
Inspector - Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Advisor

1stSgt Dorminey is a native of Hinesville, GA. He graduated from Worth County High School in May 2003, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 17 April 2006. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC, and graduated on 14 July 2006. Upon completion of recruit training, Pvt. Dorminey attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC and the Automotive Maintenance Technicians School in Camp Johnson, NC.

On 26 December 2006, PFC Dorminey was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 17 in Camp Pendleton, CA where he served as an Automotive Maintenance Technician. In January 2008, LCpl Dorminey deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this deployment in September 2008 he was meritorious promoted to Corporal and attended the Corporals Leadership Course.

Cpl Dorminey reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 in March 2010 as the Quality Control Non-commissioned Officer. In December 2010, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In February 2011, Sgt Dorminey deployed to Leatherneck, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his deployment, he was augmented with the 33rd Georgian Liaison Team in support of the 33rd Georgian Light Infantry Battalion. During his deployment, he served as a machine gunner and lead maintenance technician. 

While at MWSS 272, he attended Automotive Maintenance Technicians Career Course in February 2012. He attended Sergeant's Course and graduated in October 2012.

Sgt Dorminey reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 472 Detachment Alpha in April 2013. He was the Motor Transportation Maintenance Chief and Color Guard Sergeant from April 2013 to April 2016. In February 2015 he attended Ground Safety Managers Course. In March 2015 he attended Combat Marksmanship Coach's Course and Combat Marksmanship Trainer's Course. In April 2015 he attended Sgt's course in Quantico, VA. In November 2015 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant. He then went on to attend Motor Transportation Maintenance Chiefs Course in Camp Johnson, NC in April 2016.

SSgt Dorminey reported to General Support Maintenance, 3D Maintenance Battalion in May 2016 where served as Maintenance Chief and Staff Non-commissioned for the Fuel and Electric Section. He then went on to deploy to Darwin, Australia from October 2016 to April 2017. While at 3D Maintenance BN, he was augmented to work as the Officer in charge for Weapons Training Battalion at Camp Hansen rifle range. He attended Career Course at Camp Hansen and graduated in June 2018. He departed and attended Basic Recruiter School. He became a Marine Corps Recruiter with RS Jacksonville, RSS Altamonte Springs, PCS Sanford, FL in July 2019 to July 2022 serving as a canvassing recruiter. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in November 2019. 

In September 2022, GySgt Dorminey executed PCS orders to Headquarters Battalion, 2D Marine Division to Camp Lejuene, NC where he would be the Motor Transportation Maintenance Chief for Truck Company from September 2022 to June 2023. He attended Advance School from April 2023 until June 2023. He was the Company GySgt from June 2023 to June 2024. He was selected to 1stSgt July 2024. First Sergeant Dorminey reported to Combat Battalion Regiment 45, as the Inspector-Instructor 1stSgt Site Support Smyrna, Smyrna, GA where he is currently serving as the Inspector-Instructor 1stSgt Site Support Smyrna.

1stSgt Dorminey's personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Gold Stars in lieu of 2nd Award, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and Iraqi Freedom Medal.
