1st Sgt Aspinwall is currently Company 1st Sgt, HQ Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion.
1st Sgt Aspinwall graduated boot camp in 1992 and soon after attended Marine Combat Training, then The School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, CA. After graduating SOI as a 0341 Mortarman he was sent to Marine Barracks Japan, Sasebo, Japan and became part of the force guarding Naval Ordinance. He was promoted to Lance Corporal and held the Corporal of the Guard Billet.
In 1994 1st Sgt Aspinwall was sent back to the states and joined Company A 1st BN 5th Marines. During this time, he attended division schools and held the squad and section leader billets in the Weapons Platoon and was promoted to Corporal. 1st Sgt Aspinwall was moved to the regimental training office in 1996 where he served as Range NCO until his end of active service in August 1996. 1st Sgt Aspinwall was honorably discharged in 1999.
In 2008 1st Sgt Aspinwall joined the Marine Corps Reserve and kept the rank of Corporal with India 3/23 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Soon after he was augmented to Golf 2/23 and was sent to Al Anbar Province Iraq. During this tour he held the billets of vehicle commander, assistant patrol leader, and patrol leader.
Upon return to the states 1st Sgt Aspinwall was promoted to Sergeant and became the Platoon Sergeant and Mortar Section Leader of Weapons Platoon India 3/23. In 2012 1st Sgt Aspinwall deployed to the Republic of Georgia and was an advisor on the Georgia Training Team. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant and again went to Georgia in 2015.
In 2017, and 2019, 1st Sgt Aspinwall was deployed to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as an Infantry Advisor to the Royal Jordanian Army. During both he was the senior enlisted infantry advisor on the team. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant during his second Jordan Deployment.
Between these deployments 1st Sgt Aspinwall held the billets of Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander, and Company Gunnery Sergeant at India 3/23
In October of 2019 1st Sgt Aspinwall joined Marine Corps Advisor Company Bravo in Concord, CA where he held the billets of Infantry Tactics Advisor and Operations Advisor. He was also the operations chief for team 2 until being selected for his current rank and assigned to HQ Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion.
His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal 2nd award, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and the Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal 5th award.
