First Sergeant Raymond P. Paladino
Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
Company A, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion

First Sergeant Raymond P. Paladino is a native of Thousand Oaks, California.  First Sergeant Paladino enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2008 and graduated recruit training at MCRD San Diego, California.  
 
Following recruit training, Private Paladino reported to Marine Combat Training, School of Infantry West, Camp Pendleton, California.  Upon completion in July 2008, Private Paladino attended Marine Corps Field Artillery School, Cannon Crewman Course in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. 
 
In September of 2008, Private First Class Paladino reported to 5th Battalion, 14th Marines, November Battery, in Pico Rivera, California.In January of 2009, Private First Class Paladino was activated to deploy to Afghanistan with November Battery, and attached to 3rd Battalion 11th Marines in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). He was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in May of 2009. In January of 2010, Lance Corporal Paladino detached from 3rd Battalion, 11th Marines and returned to reserve duty with November Battery. 
 
In December of 2011, Corporal Paladino was assigned the billet of a gunner and assistant section chief. In August 2014, Sergeant Paladino reported to the 11th Marines Artillery Training School, Section Chief Course, in Camp Pendleton California. In September of 2014, Sergeant Paladino returned to November Battery and was assigned the billet of howitzer section chief, Gun 3. 
 
In August of 2015, Sergeant Paladino began pursuing an associate's degree in fire technology, and later changed majors to pursue a degree in business administration at Oxnard College, in Oxnard, California. In March of 2016, He was promoted to Staff Sergeant. Staff Sergeant Paladino then returned to the 11th Marines Artillery Training School to attend Local Security Course. In August of 2016, Staff Sergeant Paladino was assigned the billet of senior howitzer section chief and began supervising new section chiefs. In August of 2017, Staff Sergeant Paladino deployed to Norway in support of Exercise Agile Spirit.

In March of 2018, Staff Sergeant Paladino reported to Headquarters Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines in Seal Beach, California to serve as the Battery Gunnery Sergeant, where he supported four firing batteries during multiple iterations of Integrated Training Exercises aboard MAGTFTC/MCAGCC, Twentynine Palms. 
 
In August of 2019, Staff Sergeant Paladino continued to focus on his civilian education and transferred to the University of Southern California in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in business administration. In January of 2020, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, and would frequently take over as the Battery First Sergeant as well as the Battery Gunnery Sergeant in the absence of a First Sergeant for Headquarters Battery.
 
In May of 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Paladino earned his bachelor's degree in business administration, and in August of 2021, enrolled as a candidate for the University of Southern California's Master of Science in Finance program. He received his master's degree in finance in December of 2022.


In May of 2025, Gunnery Sergeant Paladino was selected for the rank of First Sergeant and assigned as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader with Company A, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion.

First Sergeant Paladino's personal decorations include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various other service and campaign medals. In addition, he has been awarded two Letters of Appreciation and a Certificate of Appreciation.
