Brandon Bolt is a native of Louisiana. He graduated from Terrebonne High School in Houma, Louisiana in June 2001. Brandon Bolt enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2001. Upon completion of recruit training in November of 2001, he was promoted to Private First Class. After MCT he then went to his MOS school where was assigned the military occupational specialty 1341, heavy equipment mechanic.
Private First Class Bolt then reported to Engineer Maintenance Company, 3d Material Readiness Battalion, and 3d Forces Support Group in Okinawa, Japan in March of 2002. He attained the rank of Lance Corporal there. In October of 2004, Lance Corporal Bolt attended Boat School and attained the MOS 1342 boat mechanic. Lance Corporal Bolt was promoted to the rank of Corporal in January 2004, and served as a boat mechanic. Corporal Bolt then reported to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit as a boat mechanic. He deployed to Iraq in August of 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In July of 2005, Corporal Bolt reported to Marine Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, TX. He was assigned to Marine Air Control Squadron 24 Det A and was appointed to be the auxiliary chief. Corporal Bolt was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January of 2007. Sergeant Bolt deployed with the 6th Provisional Security Company to Djibouti, Africa for Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sergeant Bolt reported to Marine Special Operations School where he was assigned as a boat mechanic in December 2008. Sergeant Bolt was promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 2010. He was assigned to the Marine Special Operation School as the S-4 Chief. Staff
Sergeant Bolt deployed in June of 2011 with the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force 3rd Special Forces Group 3rd Battalion Alpha Company. He served as the Maintenance Chief. Upon his return served as the Ops Chief for the Boat House.
In August 2013, SSgt Bolt received orders to Recruiting Station Baton Rouge. While assigned to recruiting substation in Lake Charles, he served as a canvassing recruiter. In September 2014, SSgt Bolt was appointed the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer In charge of RSS Lake Charles. SSgt Bolt advanced to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in July 2016. GySgt Bolt continued to be the SNCOIC until the completion of his tour in November 2016.
In December 2016, GySgt Bolt was assigned to 7th Communication Battalion Service Company as the Maintenance Chief. After a short stent with 7th Comm GySgt Bolt received orders to 2d Maint Bn Camp Lejeune in July of 2017. He went TAD V3/8 in June 2017 as a Company First Sergeant. He also served in H&S Company GySgt Billet where he served until Jan 2020.
Upon completion of his TAD, he was in receipt of orders to 2d Raider Bn, Camp Lejeune, NC. He was then frocked to First Sergeant on March 12, 2020. He then checking to into 2d Raider Bn on March 20, 2020 where he served as the MSOC-I First Sergeant. Upon returning from his PACOM deployment he was reassigned to Headquarters Company as the company First Sergeant at 3d Marine Raider Bn February 8, 2022. After a short stint in Headquarters company, he was then sent to MSOC-K as the company First Sergeant for another PACOM deployment.
In July 2024, 1stSgt Bolt was promoted to SgtMaj. In August 2024, SgtMaj Bolt reported to Marine Air Control Squadron 24 in Virginia Beach where he is now assigned as the Site Command Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Sergeant Major Bolt's personal awards include The Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of fourth award, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
