Sergeant Major Bundy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on April 25, 2005, and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island South Carolina with a Meritorious promotion to Private First Class. Upon completion of recruit training, Sergeant Major Bundy reported to the School of Infantry East at Camp Geiger North Carolina and graduated in October of 2005 with the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 0311, Rifleman.
From October of 2005 to Nov of 2006, Sergeant Major Bundy was assigned to Company F, 2d Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Albany NY where he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL) and was selected as the Guide for the company.
In Nov of 2006, Sergeant Major Bundy moved to Tacoma Washington and was assigned to 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Portland Oregon where he attended Combat Engineer School in Camp Lejeune North Carolina and graduated as the honor graduate earning him the MOS 1371 (Combat Engineer) in May of 2007. Directly following the completion of MOS training, Sergeant Major Bundy deployed with 8th Engineer Support Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in June of 2007. During this deployment, Sergeant Major Bundy was awarded Marine of the Quarter for Company, Battalion, and 4th Marine Logistics Group and was promoted to the ranks of Corporal, and would later receive a Meritorious Promotion to Sergeant in 2008. During this time, Sergeant Major Bundy would earn the MOS Martial Arts Instructor (0916) and Martial Arts Instructor Trainer (0917).
In March of 2010 Sergeant Major Bundy received active-duty orders to Manpower and Reserve Affairs (Quantico Virginia) as a Funeral Honors Coordinator. In 2011, he was selected to fill the billet of Investigation Tracking Chief and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his time in Quantico Sergeant Major Bundy earned the MOS Combat Marksmanship Coach (0933), and Combat Marksmanship Trainer (0931).
In 2013 Sergeant Major Bundy was assigned as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Company C, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, Lynchburg Virginia. During this time, he earned a 2nd Degree Martial Arts Instructor Training tab and was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in 2016.
In 2018, Sergeant Major Bundy was selected as the Marine Air Ground Task Force Planning Chief for Joint Forces Africa and was assigned to Marine Forces Europe in Stuttgart Germany until August of 2019 when he was selected for the rank of First Sergeant.
In August of 2019, Sergeant Major Bundy was assigned as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company, 2d Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment in Garden City NY. In January of 2021, Sergeant Major Bundy was assigned as the Battery First Sergeant for Headquarters Battery, 2d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment in Grand Prairie TX where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major.
In November of 2024, Sergeant Major Bundy was assigned as the Battalion Sergeant Major for 6th Engineer Support Battalion in Portland Oregon where he is currently serving.
Sergeant Major Bundy’s civilian education includes a Master of Business (MBA) in Project Management, Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in Leadership.
Sergeant Major Bundy’s personal decorations include: 2- Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Meritorious Civil Service Medal, Engineer of the Year Award, and Marine of Year award in 2008.
