Sergeant Major Michael T. Perrault is a native New Bern, NC and attended high school in Salem, New Hampshire. He enlisted in the delayed entry program in November of 2003 and attend Marine Corps basic training at Recruit Depot Parris Island in September of 2004.
He has served as the Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader for 1st Battalion, 25th Marines aboard Fort Devens, Massachusetts since March of 2023.
Sergeant Major Perrault's previous billets and assignments include: Aviation Supply Specialist, Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 (2005-2008/2013-2016); Marine Combat Instructor, Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry-East (2008-2012); Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36 (2012-2013); Civil-Military Operations Planner Chief, Headquarters Company, 6th Marine Regiment (2016-2018); Fleet Support Liaison, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (2018-2019); Unit Senior Enlisted Leader, Company A and Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines (2019-2021), and Headquarters Company, 6th Marines (2021-2023).
His deployments include multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, a unit deployment program rotation to Okinawa, Japan, and Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South aboard the USS America (LHA-6).
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars and “C” device in lieu of third award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
He is a distinguished graduate of the SNCO Career Course, Advanced Course, and the Air Force Senior NCO Academy and has completed various other professional military education courses, to include the Cornerstone Commander's Course, 1stSgt/MSgt Seminar, First Sergeant's Course, Senior Enlisted Legal Course, Senior Enlisted Joint PME I and II, and the Naval War College Primary Enlisted PME. He has received two Department of Labor Journeyman Certificates from the United Services Military Apprenticeship Program.
He is an active member of his community, volunteering extensively and serving as an Incorporator at the Cathedral of the Pines National War Memorial.
