Sergeant Major Greene enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in February 1998, and attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation, Sergeant Major Greene reported to the School of Infantry aboard Camp Geiger, North Carolina.

Upon completion of his MOS training, he reported to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines aboard Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii for duty, where he was assigned to Fox Company and served primarily as an anti-tank assaultman. From 1998 to 2001, Sergeant Major Greene deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice in support of the Unit Deployment Program.

From December 2001 to January 2004, Sergeant Major Greene was assigned to Weapons Field Training Battalion aboard Quantico, Virginia, where he served as a Primary Marksmanship Instructor and Chief Instructor for the Battalion’s Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

In February 2004, Sergeant Major Greene reported to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, aboard Twentynine Palms, California, where he served as a CAAT Section Leader and Platoon Sergeant. From September 2004 to March 2005, and again from March to September 2006, Sergeant Major Greene deployed to Iraq with Weapons Company, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2-2 and 5-7, respectively. Sergeant Major Greene was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in November 2006.

Upon redeployment, Sergeant Major Greene reported to Drill Instructor School aboard Parris Island, South Carolina in July 2007. Upon completion of Drill Instructor School, he was assigned to India Company, 3d Recruit Training Battalion, where he served as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor from July 2007 to July 2010.

In August 2010, Sergeant Major Greene was assigned to Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion 8th Marines aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In October 2010, Sergeant Major Greene was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, and began serving as a Senior Enlisted Advisor, CAAT Platoon Sergeant, and Weapons Company Operations Chief until April 2014. From February 2011 to August 2011, and again from March 2013 to September 2013, Sergeant Major Greene deployed to Iraq with Headquarters and Service Company and Weapons Company, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11-1 and 13-1, respectively.

In May 2014, Sergeant Major Greene reported to Marine Security Guard School class 4-14 aboard Quantico, Virginia. Upon graduation, he was assigned to MSG Detachment Tirana, Albania, as the Detachment Commander and served within that capacity from August 2014 to July 2016.

Sergeant Major Greene was promoted in August 2016 to the rank of First Sergeant, and subsequently assigned to 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 9th Engineer Support Battalion aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. He served as Company First Sergeant for Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, Engineer Company A, and Headquarters and Service Company.

In July 2019, Sergeant Major Greene reported to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company till December 2020. Sergeant Major Greene was promoted to his current rank on 4 January 2021.

Sergeant Major Greene assumed his current post with Marine Aircraft Group-41, Site Support, Detachment Bravo in January 2021, and currently serves as the Site Support Sergeant Major.

Personal Awards:

First Sergeant Greene’s personal decorations include the Purple Heart, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat “V,” and the Combat Action Ribbon.
