First Sergeant Joseph E. Lamberty
Inspector-Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
Battery P, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

First Sergeant Lamberty graduated high school in Hoffman Estates, IL, in 2007. Following graduation he reported to 1st Recruit Training Battalion in MCRD San Diego, California. Upon graduating Recruit Training he reported to Marine Combat Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. After MCT Private Lamberty was sent to Fort Sill, Oklahoma to attended the Marine Corps Cannoneer Course and received the MOS 0811.

In March 2008 Private First Class Lamberty reported to Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA. During his time with Charlie Battery, he served as a Cannoneer, and Gunner he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal in June 2009. In May 2010 he deployed on the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) aboard the USS Pearl Harbor with Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/4. In January 2011 he reported to Alpha Battery where he served as a Howitzer Section Chief, in November 2011 he deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

In March 2012, Sergeant Lamberty reported to Sierra Battery, 5th Battalion 11th Marines to serve as a HIMARS Launcher Chief and Local Security Chief. In July 2012 he deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan as a Launcher Chief and provided artillery support to Joint Special Operations Task Force.

In July of 2013, Sergeant Lamberty reported to Echo Battery, 2nd battalion 10th Marines 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, NC. During his time with Echo battery he served as a Howitzer Section Chief, Mortar Section Chief, Local Security Chief, Cannon Platoon Sergeant and Mortar Platoon Sergeant. In October 2015 Sergeant Lamberty deployed on the 26th MEU aboard the USS Arlington with BLT 2/6, while deployed the battery executed combat operations in Northern Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. In July of 2016 Sergeant Lamberty was assigned to the 10th Marine Regiment Artillery Training School as an Cannon Instructor.

In January of 2017 Staff Sergeant Lamberty reported to Cannoneer School Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he served as Cannoneer Course instructor, Advance Cannoneer Course instructor, Cannoneer Course Chief, Curriculum Developer for Marine Corps Cannon Rocket Section Chief Course, and Cannoneer School Force Fitness Instructor.

14 September 2020 Staff Sergeant Lamberty reported to Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion 10th Marines 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, NC and served as the Battery Gunnery Sergeant. While assigned to Alpha Battery he deployed twice to Okinawa, Japan in support of 3d Battalion 12th Marines 3d Marine Division Unit Deployment Program 21.2 and 23.2.

On August 8th 2024 Gunnery Sergeant Lamberty reported to Papa Battery, 5th Battalion 14th Marines 4th Marine Division Yakima, WA and served as the Battery Gunnery Sergeant.

July 1st, 2025, First Sergeant Lamberty was promoted to his current rank and serves as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader, Inspector-Instructor for Papa Battery, 5th Battalion 14th Marines, 4th Marine Division Yakima, WA.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 gold stars in lieu of 4th award), the Combat Action Ribbon, 2015 II MEF NCO of the Year, and the 2016 North Carolina Salute to Freedom Marine of the Year.
