Biography

 

First Sergeant Joshua L. Pierce
Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
Foxtrot Company, 2d Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment

First Sergeant Pierce grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, in August 2007.  Private Pierce attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California after recruit training.  After completing combat training, Private First Class Pierce reported to USA Quartermaster School Ft. Gregg-Adams, Virginia, for Food Service Specialist school.   Upon completion, Private First Class Pierce was assigned to II MEF Headquarters Group, Camp Lejeune, NC, as a Food Service Specialist. 
 
In March of 2009, Lance Corporal Pierce deployed to Al Asad Air Base, Albaghdadi, Iraq, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Food Service Specialist. Lance Corporal Pierce was promoted to Corporal in July 2009. Corporal Pierce operated out of various DFACs and assisted with the retrograde of II MEF assets until their departure in 2010. Upon return from this tour, Corporal Pierce held the billet as Platoon Sergeant until he dropped to the Individual Ready Reserve on August 26, 2011, for 2 months to make an effective transfer to the reserve component. 
 
While in the Individual Ready Reserve, Corporal Pierce was promoted to Sergeant in October 2011.
November 2011 Sergeant Pierce was assigned to Bridge Company Alpha, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group Battle Creek, MI. Lateral moving to the Engineer Equipment Operator MOS.  In June of 2012, Sergeant Pierce reported to US Army Training Center Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, to attend the basic Engineer Equipment Operator school. 
 
Upon completion of his second MOS school, Sergeant Pierce returned to Bridge Company Alpha as the Platoon Sergeant and Section Chief of Equipment Platoon.  Sergeant Pierce was promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 2015. In February of 2018, Staff Sergeant Pierce reported to the US Army Training Center Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, to attend the Engineer Equipment Chief Course, obtaining the 1349 MOS upon completion. Staff Sergeant Pierce was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in February 2019. Gunnery Sergeant Pierce served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Bridge Company Alpha until the unit's deactivation in 2021. 
 
In February 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Pierce reported to Engineer Support Company (ESC), 6th Engineer Support Battalion in Battle Creek, MI, immediately continuing his role as a Company Gunnery Sergeant. July 2023, First Sergeant Pierce was Frocked and received orders to 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines, Fox Company, Milwaukee, WI where he currently serves as the Company First Sergeant.
 
First Sergeant Pierce's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Certificate of Commendation.
