Biography

 

First Sergeant Frankie J. Salcedo
Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment

First Sergeant Salcedo enlisted in the Marine Corps in June of 1996 and subsequently reported to MCRD Parris Island, SC the following year for recruit training.  Upon completion of boot camp and MCT he reported to Military Police School in Ft. McClellan, AL for MOS school. While in training, he was promoted to Private First Class.

 

After completing his initial training, he was assigned to the Provost Marshal’s Office on Camp Foster, Okinawa Japan, from December of 1997 to December of 1998. He served as a Military Policeman, team leader and patrol supervisor. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in May 1998.

 

In January of 1999 he reported to HMX-1, in Quantico, Virginia for duty as a Presidential Security Guard.  During this tour he served as the Corporal of the Guard, Sergeant of the Guard, Platoon Sergeant, and Trip Security Officer. He supported over 50 CONUS and OCONUS presidential missions. I n June of 1999 he was promoted to Corporal and attended the Corporal's Course receiving the Honor Graduate award.   In January of 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant.

 

From August of 2001 to May of 2004, he was assigned to USCENTCOM, Tampa, FL where he served as a team leader for the Personal Security Detail of the Commander and Deputy Commander.  During this tour he deployed multiple times to USCENTCOM's area of responsibility to include Iraq and Afghanistan. In May of 2004, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

 

In May of 2004 he received an honorable discharge and soon after was enlisted to work as a security contractor for duty in Iraq.

 

In April of 2007 he re-enlisted back into the Marine Corps and was assigned to the Provost Marshal's Office MCAS, Miramar where he served as a Military Police Watch Commander, Special Reaction Team Leader, and the SNCOIC for the Vehicle Registration Section.

 

In March of 2010 he received orders for recruiting duty and was assigned to Recruiting Sub Station Warwick, RI.  During his recruiting tour he served as a Canvassing Recruiter and the Station Commander.

 

In March 2013 he was transferred to Marine Corps Base Hawaii and served as the Training Chief for the Provost Marshal's Office. In August of 2013, he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. In April 2015, he was transferred to MARFORPAC, Camp Smith, HI and served as the Law Enforcement Operations Chief and the Physical Security Chief in support of operations in the USPACOM AOR.

 

In March of 2017 he reported for I&I duty in Ft. Sheridan, IL and currently serves as the I&I First Sergeant for 2/24 Weapons Company. In October of 2017, he was promoted to First Sergeant.

 

First Sergeant Salcedo's personal decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal w/gold oak leaf cluster in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, and the Presidential Service Badge.
