Sergeant Major Jose M. Ducasse assumed the duties of Site Support MAG-49 Det B, 4th MAW, Newburgh, NY Sergeant Major on 9 July 2020.

Jose M. Ducasse joined the Marine Corps in May 2000 in Bronx, New York and attended basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island that same month. After graduation, Private Ducasse reported to Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training. He then proceeded to Fort Knox Kentucky for follow on training as a Tank Crewman (1812). Upon graduation, he reported to Company B, 2d Tank Battalion, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC where he was assigned as a tank driver for 1st platoon.
In August 2002, Lance Corporal Ducasse deployed as a Ml Al tank loader with Headquarters and Service Company, Battalion Landing Team 2/2, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. While deployed, newly promoted Corporal Ducasse served as part of Operation Dynamic Response in September 2002, Operation Southern Watch in January 2003, and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in March 2003. Upon return in May 2003, Corporal Ducasse was assigned as a tank gunner for Company A, 3rd Platoon, where he successfully qualified on multiple gunneries.

In March 2004, newly promoted Sergeant Ducasse was assigned as the Company Commander's gunner and section leader for Headquarters Platoon. Shortly after, in September 2004, Company A received deployment orders to Iraq where Sergeant Ducasse served as a tank commander/section leader for 3rd Platoon. While deployed, Company A took part of Operation Phantom Fury in OIF 2-2 and 4-06 in Fallujah, Iraq.

In May 2005, Sergeant Ducasse received orders to Fort Knox Kentucky to teach as an instructor for Marine Armor Crewman Course. In June 2005, he was assigned as the platoon sergeant for Marine Awaiting Training Platoon and 1st Platoon of the Armor Crewman Course. During his instructor time, he was named Instructor of the Cycle for March 2006, Instructor of the Month for October 2007, and Instructor of the Quarter for October 2007.

In May 2008, Staff Sergeant Ducasse received orders to Company D, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, as a Section Leader/Tank Commander. In September 2009, Staff Sergeant Ducasse deployed as a Section Leader/Tank Commander with Company G, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines, I Ith Marine Expeditionary Unit. In April 2010, Staff Sergeant Ducasse was assigned as Platoon Sergeant for 1st Platoon, Company D, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Staff Sergeant Ducasse deployed with his tank platoon to Afghanistan from January to July 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon returning, newly promoted Gunnery Sergeant Ducasse graduated from Staff Noncommission Officer Academy Advance Course class 1-12 and Marine Security Guard School class 5-12 as a Detachment Commander.

In September 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Ducasse received orders as Detachment Commander to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, Region 7, U.S. Embassy Tunis, Tunisia from September 2012 to December 2014, and Region 9, U.S. Embassy San Jose, Costa Rica from December 2014 to June 2015. In June 2015, newly promoted First Sergeant (Frocked) Ducasse received orders to School Of Infantry East where he served as Company First Sergeant for Instructor Training Company, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, and Companies I and K, Marine Combat Training Battalion.

In July 2017, First Sergeant Ducasse received orders to 2d Intelligence Battalion, Information Group, Il Marine Expeditionary Force where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company. Subsequently, he served as acting Sergeant Major for 2d ANGLICO from October 2017 to January 2018 and March to June of 2018. In August 2018, he attended the Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. In November 2018, he was selected to his current rank and served as the Sergeant Major for Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

In March 2020, Sergeant Major Ducasse earned his Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management (Magna Cum Laude) through Ashford University.

Sergeant Major Ducasse's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars in lieu of second, third and fourth award; the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal with combat "V" distinguish device and two gold stars in lieu of second and third award; the Combat Action Ribbon; and the Department of State Meritorious Honor Award.
