Sergeant Major Loyola
Inspector-Instructor Sergeant Major, 4th Tank Battalion

Sergeant Major Loyola is a Marion, TX native. After graduating from Marion High School in June of 1997, Sergeant Major Loyola enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.
Upon completion of basic training, Private Loyola attended Marine Combat Training and Assault Amphibian Schools Battalion at Camp Pendleton, CA.
In January of 1998 Private First Class Loyola reported to Company C, 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as a crewman. In July of 1998 he was attached to the 2d Marine Expeditionary Force, MARFOR UNITAS where he deployed to South America. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in August of 1998.

Upon his return from South America, he deployed with the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit in September of 1999. He was attached to Battalion Landing Team 3d Battalion, 6th Marines.

In July of 2000 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In October of 2000, Sergeant Loyola reported to Recruiter School at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA. In January of 2001 he reported to Recruiting Sub-Station (RSS) Oklahoma City North, Recruiting Station (RS) Oklahoma where he served as a canvassing recruiter.

Upon completing a successful tour on recruiting duty Sergeant Loyola reported to Company B, 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA. In February of 2004 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and in May of 2004 he deployed to Iraq in direct support of Operation Iraqi freedom (OIF) 1-2 where he was attached to Company E, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines in Hit, Iraq.

Staff Sergeant Loyola again deployed to Iraq in September of 2005 in direct support of OIF 4-6 where he was attached to Regimental Combat Team 5 in Al Asad, Iraq.

In January of 2007 Staff Sergeant Loyola reported to Range Company, Weapons and Field Training Battalion where he served as the Platoon Sergeant for Charlie Range.

In March of 2009 Staff Sergeant Loyola reported to Company B, 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion and in July of 2009 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In May of 2010 Gunnery Sergeant Loyola deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 10-1 where he was attached to Regimental Combat Team 7. In November of 2011 Gunnery Sergeant Loyola deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

In February of 2013 Gunnery Sergeant Loyola reported to Combat Assault Battalion, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Headquarters and Service Company, Company Gunnery Sergeant.

Gunnery Sergeant Loyola was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant in June of 2015 and checked into Company B, 7th Communications Battalion. After departing Okinawa, Japan First Sergeant Loyola reported to Site Support Columbus, OH, Company L, 3d Battalion, 25th Marines.

Sergeant Major Loyola was promoted to his current rank in February of 2019.

Personal Decorations: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 3 Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 3 Gold Stars, and Combat Action Ribbon with 1 Gold Star.
