Sergeant Major Wade reported for recruit training at MCRD San Diego CA in September 1991. Upon completion of recruit training, Private Wade received Orders to Marine Combat Training and Infantry Training School at Camp Pendleton CA.
Upon completion of Infantry training in 1991, Private First Class Wade was given the MOS of 0311, Basic Rifleman, and was assigned as a Security Forces Marine with Company B, Marine Barracks, Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines. Lance Corporal Wade served aboard Naval Air Station Cubi Point January 1992 until its closure in November 1992.
In January of 1993 Lance Corporal Wade served as a rifleman with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment where he was promoted meritoriously to Corporal and served as a Fire Team Leader and Squad Leader. Corporal Wade deployed with the 11th MEU(SOC) to Mogadishu, Somalia and participated in Operation Continue Hope, Operation Quick Draw and Distant Runner in 1994.
Upon returning to Camp Pendleton in 1994, Corporal Wade served as a Classified Materials Security Clerk for the 5th Marine Regiment. Upon completion of his four year tour, Corporal Wade was Honorably Discharged from the Marine Corps and re-located to Kalamazoo MI where he transferred into the Marine Corps Reserve in September of 1995.
Sergeant Wade began Drilling with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment where he served as a squad leader, platoon sergeant and platoon commander. During his tour, Sergeant Wade attended Sergeants Course at Camp Crowder, MO and participated in two JTF-6 Counter Drug Missions in 1996 and 1997 as a Reconnaissance Team Leader. During this same tour, he also participated in two Dutch Bilateral Training Missions working with the Dutch Royal Marines in 1999 and 2000.
In May of 2001 Sergeant Wade began drilling with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment where he served as a section leader and platoon sergeant of the Heavy Machine Gun Platoon. In May of 2002, Sergeant Major Wade was promoted to Staff Sergeant and attended the Staff NCO Academy at Camp Crowder MO. In January of 2003 Staff Sergeant Wade was recalled to active duty and deployed to Djibouti, Africa as part of CJTF-HOA in support of Operation Enduring Freedom serving as a Guard Commander.
In January 2006 Staff Sergeant Wade returned to active duty and attended the Infantry Unit Leader Course, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, Camp Lejeune NC. In June of that same year, Staff Sergeant Wade attended ILOC and Mojave Viper with Weapons Company 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment in preparation to deploy to Al Fallujah, Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In August 2006, Staff Sergeant Wade was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
Upon his return in April of 2007, Gunnery Sergeant Wade relocated to Chicago, IL and began drilling with the TACC Battle Staff (E) aboard Naval Station Great Lakes, IL where he served as the resident 0369 advisor to the commanding officer as Ground Watch Chief and SNCOIC. During this tour Gunnery Sergeant Wade attended the SNCOA Advanced Course in 2008.
In May of 2010 Gunnery Sergeant Wade was selected for promotion to First Sergeant and reported to H&S Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment in Chicago, IL. During this time First Sergeant Wade attended the SNCOA Fist Sergeant’s Course and the E-8 Seminar.
In June of 2012, First Sergeant Wade reported as Company First Sergeant, Weapons Company (-) 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment aboard Ft. Sheridan, IL. During this time he participated in one ITX, one MTX and attended the Joint Senior Enlisted PME Course and the Cornerstone Course. At the end of his three year tour, First Sergeant Wade was selected for promotion to his current rank in March of 2015 and was frocked in May of that same year.
Sergeant Major Wade reported for duty as Battalion Sergeant Major of 4th Law Enforcement Battalion in June of 2015.
Sergeant Major Wade’s personal decorations include the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal with one silver star in lieu of sixth award and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
