First Sergeant Anthony Julio Francisco

Anthony Francisco is a native of Perth Amboy, NJ. He graduated from Nutley High School in Nutley, NJ in 2006. Anthony Francisco enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2006 and attended recruit training at Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC. Upon completion of recruit training in September of 2006, Private Francisco attended Echo Company, Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry at Camp Geiger. He was assigned the military occupational specialty 1371, Combat Engineer.
 
Upon completion, Private First Class Francisco reported to Marine Corps Engineer School for instruction in Basic Combat Engineer course. Upon completion, Private First Class Francisco reported to Combat Assault Battalion, Combat Engineer Company, Okinawa, Japan in May of 2007. While a member of Combat Assault Battalion, Private First Class Francisco was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and served as a Combat Engineer. In August of 2008, newly promoted Corporal Francisco, was now a fire team leader and deployed to BCK, Thailand and Camp Fuji, Japan in 2008.
 
In May of 2009 Corporal Francisco reported to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, and was immediately sent to Combat Logistics Battalion 24, in support of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In January of 2010 Corporal Francisco deployed to the 5th Fleet Area of Operation, and was in direct support of Operation Unified Response in Port-au-Prince, Haiti with relief efforts to the earthquake. In March of 2011, Corporal Francisco was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was moved to Combat Engineer section head of the Engineer Detachment in Combat Logistics Battalion 24. 
 
In March of 2012, Sergeant Francisco deployed again on the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the 5th Area of Operation. Upon returning from deployment, Sergeant Francisco returned to his parent command at 8th Engineer Support Battalion, and became the Fitness Coordinator/ MCMAP Instructor for Bridge Company.
 
In July of 2013, Sergeant Francisco reported to Recruiter School for instruction in Basic Recruiting Course 5-13. In September of 2013, Sergeant Francisco reported to Recruiting Station Baton Rouge, LA to serve as a canvassing recruiter in Recruiting Sub-station Baton Rouge North.
 
In July of 2016, Sergeant Francisco reported to 2D Combat Engineer Battalion, Company A, 2nd Platoon and served as platoon guide. In October of 2016, Sergeant Francisco was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant, and immediately placed as Platoon Sergeant of 2D Combat Engineer Battalion, Company A, 1st Platoon. In January of 2017, Staff Sergeant Francisco was attached to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines as the battalion engineer chief, in support of Black Sea Rotation Force 17.1 in Mihail Kogalniceaunu, Romania. Upon return from deployment, Staff Sergeant Francisco was moved to Platoon Sergeant of Mobility Assault Company, Route Clearance Platoon 2.
 
In October 2018, Staff Sergeant Francisco reported to the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy. Upon reporting, Staff Sergeant Francisco was assigned as a faculty advisor to the Career School curriculum. After his first year, Staff Sergeant Francisco was moved to Sergeant School and advanced within the Master Faculty Advisor program to a Senior Faculty Advisor, and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. 
 
In October of 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Francisco reported to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Company B. In January 2022, Gunnery Sergeant Francisco was assigned to company C, 3rd platoon in support of the Commander Task Force 75 rotation attached to 30th Naval Construction Regiment. While deployed in Palau, Gunnery Sergeant Francisco supported Navy/Marine Corps construction operations, along with the Pacific Partnership 22 mission in Phu Yen Province, Vietnam. Gunnery Sergeant Francisco then served as Company Gunnery Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion upon return from deployment and was frocked to his current rank of First Sergeant.
 
In January of 2024, First Sergeant Francisco reported to the School of Infantry West, Infantry Training Battalion and served as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader for Alpha Company.  During his time there, he completed his Professional Military Education for his current rank. 
 
In July of 2025, First Sergeant Francisco reported to 3rd Battalion, 14th Marines Golf Battery to his present command where he serves as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader.
 
First Sergeant Francisco’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 1 gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 gold stars, 6 Certificates of Commendation, and 10 Meritorious Masts. First Sergeant Francisco also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Homeland Security through American Military University, a Master of Arts Degree in Counter-terrorism through American Military University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Human Resource Development: Workforce Development through Louisiana State University.
