First Sergeant Korte was born 28 May 1988 and was raised in Flint, MI. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and attended recruit training at MCRD San Diego, California in May of 2009. Upon completion, he received training at the School of Infantry, Infantry Training
Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California.
After graduation, he reported to Marine Corps Security Force Training Company (MCSFTC), Chesapeake, Virginia in November of 2009 to receive training as a basic security guard. He attained the MOS 8152.
In January 2010, First Sergeant Korte reported to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Bangor (MCSFBN), Silverdale, Washington for his assignment. In February 2010 he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and served as a rifleman and was later assigned
as a team leader for his unit. In November 2011 he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal, he assumed the duties as the Corporal and Sergeant of the guard, guarding the nation's strategic assets.
First Sergeant Korte reported to 3D Battalion 7th Marines in July of 2012. He was assigned to India Company in the billet of Squad leader. First Sergeant Korte was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant in May of 2013. He deployed with his unit in August of 2013 to Helmand province Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). He returned from deployment in March 2014 and continued to hold the billet of Squad Leader until June 2014.
First Sergeant Korte executed orders to 2D Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in July of 2014. He was assigned to Echo Company in the billet of Squad Leader. He deployed with his unit in January of 2015, on the Black Sea Rotational force, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response Africa 15.1 (SPMAGTF-CR-AF). He returned from deployment in July of 2015. In December of 2015 he attended Sergeants Course in New River, North Carolina, where he was the honor graduate. In July of 2016 he
again deployed with his unit on the Black Sea Rotational force, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response Africa 16.2 (SPMAGTF-CR-AF). He returned from this deployment in January of 2017.
First Sergeant Korte executed orders to Marine Corps Security Force Training Company (MCSFTC), Chesapeake, Virginia, in August of 2017. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant on October 1, 2017. Following Graduation he executed orders to Marine Corps Security Force
Battalion Bangor (MCSFBN), Silverdale, Washington, where he assumed the billet of section leader in Alpha Company. In August 2018 he took over as the Platoon sergeant of Alpha Company 3rd platoon. In January 2020 he attended and graduated from Force Fitness
Instructor Course Quantico, Virginia. He was promoted meritoriously to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant on June 2, 2020.
In October of 2020 First Sergeant Korte reported to 1st Battalion 1st Marines, Camp Pendleton CA, where he assumed the billet of company operations chief for Headquarters & Service company. In August of 2021 he deployed on the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, he
returned in March 2022. In April of 2022 he attended Advanced Course, in Camp Pendleton CA.
In June of 2022 First Sergeant Korte reported to 1st Intelligence Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA where he assumed the billet of section chief for the ground sensor platoon. In August 2023 Gunnery Sergeant Korte took over as the company gunnery sergeant.
In March of 2024 First Sergeant Korte attended the First Sergeant/Master Sergeant Regional Seminar aboard Camp Pendleton. On April 30th 2024 First Sergeant Korte was promoted to his current rank. In May 2024 First Sergeant Korte Executed orders to 3rd Battalion 14th
Marines, Hotel battery in Richmond Virginia, where he is currently serving as the Hotel battery senior enlisted leader.
First Sergeant Korte's personal decorations include the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award.
