First Sergeant Bolmon was born on September 21, 1982 in Gainesville, Georgia and was raised in the small northeast Georgia town of Toccoa. He attended Stephens County High School and graduated in 2001. Gunnery Sergeant Bolmon enlisted into the Delayed Entry Program in March 2002 and went on to recruit training in April 2002 at Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation from recruit training, First Sergeant Bolmon attended The School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon graduation from The School of Infantry, First Sergeant Bolmon was then ordered to Alpha Company 1st Battalion, 2d Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he underwent three combat deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
First Sergeant Bolmon’s first deployment to Iraq was to An-Nasariyah Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) I. The second deployment (OIF II and III) was with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) to Iskandariyah, and his last deployment (OIF IV) with 1st Battalion, 2d Marines was with the 22nd MEU to Hit, Iraq.
Upon returning from his third combat deployment in support of OIF, First Sergeant Bolmon received orders to Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Parris Island, South Carolina in the summer of 2006. While at Parris Island, First Sergeant Bolmon served as a Combat Marksmanship Coach, Combat Marksmanship Trainer, Chief Instructor for the Marksmanship Center of Excellence, and SNCOIC of Marksmanship aboard Parris Island.
First Sergeant Bolmon then received orders in the summer of 2010 to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines stationed at MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Upon reporting in to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, First Sergeant Bolmon was assigned to the Joint Task Force at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as an individual augmentee where he served as the senior Marine enlisted advisor for Joint Task Force, Guantanamo Bay. Upon returning to MCB Camp Lejeune to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, First Sergeant Bolmon was assigned to Charlie Company, Weapons Platoon where he served as the Weapons Platoon Sergeant.
First Sergeant Bolmon’s fourth combat deployment was with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines to Northern Marjah, Afghanistan where he served as both the Weapons Platoon Sergeant and the Mobile Assault Platoon Commander. After returning from Afghanistan, First Sergeant Bolmon received orders to Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Headquarters, 4th Marine Logistics Group, New Orleans, Louisiana where he served as the 4th MLG Training Chief, Assistant Security Manager, Anti-Terrorism Chief, and Ammunition Chief. First Sergeant Bolmon received Special Duty Assignment orders to report to the School of Infantry – East, Infantry Training Battalion for June 2015 as a Combat Instructor.
Upon reporting for duty to the School of Infantry – East, Infantry Training Battalion, First Sergeant Bolmon was assigned to Alpha Company, Infantry Training Battalion where he led two classes as a Platoon Sergeant and one class as an assistant Company Gunnery Sergeant. First Sergeant Bolmon was transferred to Delta Company, Infantry Training Battalion as of January 2016 where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant. First Sergeant Bolmon was then selected to serve as the 0300 Course Chief for the Tactics Instructor Group, Infantry Training Battalion.
First Sergeant Bolmon received orders in June 2018 to the Second Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters where he served as the Assistant Operations Chief.
On June 18, 2019 First Sergeant Bolmon was frocked to his current rank and then executed orders to Intelligence Support Battalion, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans, LA where he currently serves as the ISB Inspector and Instructor Senior Enlisted Advisor.
First Sergeant Bolmon’s combat and personal awards include a Certificate of Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4th Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon (2nd Award), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Meritorious Mast (3rd Award), and Combat Instructor Ribbon.
First Sergeant Bolmon is supported by his wife, Tara Marie Bolmon, his daughters Kirsten Marie Bolmon and Kami Elise Bolmon, and his sons, Kaden Lewis Bolmon and Kodi Samuel Bolmon.
