Sergeant Major Chedrick A. Greene
Sergeant Major, Combat Logistics Battalion 453

A native of Saginaw, MI, SgtMaj Chedrick Greene enlisted in July 1993 attending recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot- San Diego. Upon completion of Boot Camp, Marine Combat Training, and School of Infantry-West where he earned the 0311 MOS, Private First Class Greene was assigned to Bravo Company 1stBn 24thMarines based out of Saginaw, MI. From 1994-1999 Corporal Greene served as a Riflemen, Team Leader, and Squad leader within the company. In 1999 Cpl Greene transferred to the Individual Ready Reserve, to start his civilian career and family.

In 2001 Sgt. Greene returned to military service with B Co 1/24 as a Platoon Sergeant.
In March 2003 Sgt Greene assigned to B Co 1/24 was activated and mobilized in support of Operation Iraq Freedom-I attached to 2nd MP BN assigned to camp guard abroad Camp Fox, Kuwait and providing convoy security into Iraq. Serving as a Platoon Sergeant and Sergeant of the Guard.

In June 2004 Sgt Greene assigned to B Co 1/24 participate in exercise Bal-Tops in Poland, training alongside foreign militaries and the Illinois National Guard conducting multi-lateral training. 

In June 2006 SSgt Greene assigned to 1st BN 24th Marines was activated and mobilized in support of OIF-05-07 assigned to RCT-6, II MEF (forward). Conducting combat operations in north and central Fallujah.

In June 2008 SSgt Greene assigned to B Co 1/24 participate in exercise Tradewinds in the Dominican Republic serving as the SNCOIC for the Combat Marksmanship Team training with the Dominican Republic Army.

In Feb 2010 GySgt Greene assigned to 2nd BN 24th Marines, served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the landing force during exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) abroad USS Tortuga conducting security cooperation missions in South East Asia. In Sept 2010 GySgt Greene participated in the Korean Incremental Training Program (KITP) in South Korea conducting bi-lateral training with the Republic of Korea Marines.

In Aug 2012 GySgt Greene participated on Rotation 9 training team with the Georgia Deployment Program in the Republic of Georgia serving as SNCOIC for company operations and platoon tactics.
 
In April 2013 1stSgt Greene was frocked and assumed the duties as Company First Sergeant of Alpha Co 1st BN 24th Marines. During his tenure, he participate in two ITX’s and one MTNX training event. In May 2017 1stSgt Greene was posted as Company 1stSgt for Bridge Company A, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, participating in Operation River Assault.

In Oct 2017 1stSgt Greene mobilized on ADOS orders, assisting the storm regeneration efforts with Marine Force Storage Center, Marine Corps Logistics Command Albany, Ga.  Serving as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Fleet Support Division-Albany and the Augmentation Force. In June 2019, 1stSgt Greene became a plank-owner as he served as the first Senior Enlisted Leader to the Battalion Commander for the newly activated Second Force Storage Battalion, Marine Force Storage Command. In October 2019 1stSgt Greene returned to Bridge Company A and resumed duties as the Co 1stSgt.

1stSgt Greene was promoted to Sergeant Major June 2020 and was posted as Battalion Sergeant Major, Combat Logistics Battalion 453, Combat Logistics Regiment 4. 

SgtMaj Greene’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award, Combat V), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4th award), Combat Action Ribbon, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal (8th award), and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

SgtMaj Greene is employed by the City of Saginaw Fire Department, Michigan, he was the recipient of the Firefighter of the Year award in 2017 and has been awarded multiple life-safety citations.
