Lieutenant Colonel Marc Hillard

Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Marc Hillard is a native of Riverside, CA.  He graduated from California State University, San Bernardino in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.  He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (2ndLt) in the United States Marine Corps in August 2006 after completion of Officer Candidate School (OCS) aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA.  Upon his graduation from OCS, he reported to The Basic School (TBS) for officer training.  After TBS, 2ndLt Hillard reported to the Infantry Officer Course where he earned the Infantry Officer military occupational specialty (MOS - 0302).

In March 2007, 2ndLt Hillard reported to Second Battalion, Third Marine Regiment aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay where he was assigned as a Platoon Commander with Golf Company.  From February 2008 to August 2008, he deployed in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.  2ndLt Hillard was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant (1stLt) in August 2008.  He was assigned to the Battalion Operations Section as the Battalion Training Officer from August 2008 to October 2008, after which he was selected to serve as the Headquarters and Service Company Executive Officer.  From May 2009 to November 2009, he deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.

In January 2010, 1stLt Hillard reported to the School of Infantry (West) aboard Camp Pendleton, CA where he was assigned to Marine Combat Training Battalion as the Executive Officer of Golf Company.  1stLt Hillard was promoted to the rank of Captain (Capt) in August 2010, and subsequently departed active duty in February 2011.

Capt Hillard accepted active-duty mobilization orders in February 2011, and reported to Wounded Warrior Battalion (West) where he was assigned to the Marine Detachment, Naval Medical Center San Diego as the Detachment Operations Officer/Platoon Commander in San Diego, CA.  In May 2013, Capt Hillard was assigned to the Battalion Operations Section as the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer aboard Camp Pendleton, CA.  Capt Hillard’s mobilization orders ended in October 2014.

In October 2014, Capt Hillard joined the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, and was selected to serve as the Company Commander of Alpha Company, Fourth Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion aboard Camp Pendleton, CA.  From September 2015 to October 2015, he deployed to Almeria, Spain in support of NATO Exercise Trident Juncture.  Capt Hillard attended Light Armored Reconnaissance Leaders Course in February 2016, where he earned the additional MOS of Light Armored Reconnaissance Officer (MOS - 0303).

In August 2016, Capt Hillard assessed into the Active Reserve Program, and was assigned as the Group Supply/Fiscal Officer, Marine Air Control Group 48 aboard Naval Station Great Lakes, IL.  Capt Hillard was promoted to the rank of Major (Maj) in September 2016.  In October 2016, Maj Hillard attended Ground Supply Officer Course aboard Camp Johnson, NC, where he earned the new primary MOS of Ground Supply Officer (MOS - 3002).

In July 2019, Maj Hillard reported to Fourth Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans, LA, where he served as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S) G-4 / Supply Officer.  Maj Hillard completed U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College in July of 2021.  He also attended the Advanced Expeditionary Logistics Operations Course at Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, CA where he earned the additional MOS of 0477, Expeditionary Logistics Instructor.

In June of 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol).  Following his promotion, he was assigned to Force Headquarters Group to serve as the AC/S G-4.  In March of 2023, he attended the Civil Affairs Officer Course, earning the additional MOS of 0530, Civil Affairs Officer.

LtCol Hillard transferred to 4th Civil Affairs Group as Inspector-Instructor in June 2023.
