First Sergeant Stephany W. Almonte
First Sergeant
1st Civil Affairs Group

A native of Panama City, Panama, First Sergeant Almonte enlisted in the Marine Corps in March 1999 and reported for recruit training at MCRD Paris Island in February of 2000. Following Recruit Training she was received orders to Marine Corps Combat Training (MCT) in Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon completion of MCT, Private Almonte received orders to Supply Warehouse School Camp Johnson, North Carolina and obtained the Military Occupational Specialty of 3051.

In July 2000, Private Almonte was assigned to Headquarters and Service Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, California as a warehouse clerk. Private Almonte was promoted to Private First Class on August 2000 and soon after was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. In December 2001, Lance Corporal Almonte was promoted to Corporal and was temporarily assigned as the Assistant Warehouse Chief. In November 2003 Corporal Almonte was promoted to Sergeant and subsequently was assigned as the Warehouse Chief.

In 2005, Sergeant Almonte was transferred to 1st Supply Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group (MLG), Okinawa Japan and was assigned to the Training Allowance Pool to supervise the changeover of the supply account to civilian management. She was successful in conducting inventories and causative research which saved the Marine Corps 3.2 million dollars. In October 2006, Sergeant Almonte was assigned to 3d MLG Supply Management Unit (SMU) Customer Service Section. As the SNCOIC of the SMU Customer Service, she implemented policies and controls to improve supply knowledge within supply throughout Okinawa. During this time she held several additional billets such as Equal Opportunity Representative, Uniform Victim Advocate and Limited Duty Coordinator. Sergeant Almonte was promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 2008.

In September 2008, Staff Sergeant Almonte was transferred to 1st Supply Battalion, 1st MLG, Camp Pendleton, California. In May 2009 Staff Sergeant Almonte deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. She was responsible for managing a supply detachment and establishing the first Expeditionary Supply Support Capabilities (ESSC) in Afghanistan which provided timely support to maintainers and infantry units in the area of operation. In December 2009, Staff Sergeant Almonte returned from deployment and was later assigned as the 1st Supply Battalion Legal Chief.

In July 2011 Staff Sergeant Almonte reported to the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, where she served as Faculty Advisor, Chief Instructor, and SNCOIC. In July 2014 Staff Sergeant Almonte was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and received orders to Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan.

In January 2015 Gunnery Sergeant Almonte reported to Marine Wing Service Squadron 171 where she served as the Supply Chief and Warehouse Chief. In March 2016 Gunnery Sergeant Almonte was hand selected to serve as the Marine Aircraft Group 12 Headquarters First Sergeant.

In January 2018 Gunnery Sergeant Almonte received orders and reported to 7th Engineer Support Battalion. In February 2018 she was frocked to First Sergeant and assigned as the Bridge Company First Sergeant. In April 2020 First Sergeant Almonte was assigned as the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant.

In December 2020 First Sergeant Almonte reported to 1st Civil Affairs Group, Camp Pendleton, California and is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Advisor.

Her awards include: Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/ 1 gold star and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ 2 gold star.
