Sergeant Major Sean M. Fagan
Command Senior Enlisted Leader
6th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company

Sean M. Fagan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2001 at the age of 17. After completing recruit training at MCRD, San Diego and combat training at MCB Camp Pendleton, Private First Class Fagan shipped to NAS Pensacola, FL and MCB Camp Pendleton, where he completed MOS training as an Aviation Ordnance Marine (MOS 6531) on AH-1W and UH-1N Helicopters.  Upon completion of MOS school, Lance Corporal Fagan was assigned to the HMT-303 "Atlas"Squadron at MCB Camp Pendleton.  In April 2004, Corporal Fagan received orders down the flight line to HMLA-169 "Vipers".  Cpl Fagan deployed on the 31st MEU to Okinawa, Japan and promoted to Sergeant at Udairi Army Airfield, Kuwait.  Sgt Fagan participated in supporting combat operations throughout Iraq during OIF II and served as a Team Leader, Quality Assurance Safety Observer and Collateral Duty Inspector of all H-1 Ordnance Systems.  In September 2005, Sgt Fagan was released from Active Duty and joined the Individual Ready Reserves in March 2009.

In March 2009, Sgt Fagan joined the Selected Marine Corps Reserves for duty with 3d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) in Bell, California.  Upon completion of MOS training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Fire Support Man Course in Coronado, CA, Sgt Fagan was awarded the Primary MOS of Forward Observer (0861). 

 In 2010, Sgt Fagan completed the Joint Fires Observer Course, US Army Airborne School (MOS 8023) and participated in the extended annual training exercise "African Lion 10.2" in Morocco, Africa as a Team Chief. 

Sgt Fagan mobilized from February 2011 - February 2012 and deployed with 1st ANGLICO in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM 11.2 in Afghanistan.  Sgt Fagan promoted to Staff Sergeant and served as Team Chief/JFO, supporting the U.S. Army, the Australian Special Forces, and the British Army throughout multiple provinces.

Upon returning to 3d ANGLICO, SSgt Fagan completed the Tactical Air Control Party Course (MOS 8002) in June 2012, and served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the combined arms annual training exercise “Joint Warrior 15.2” in Scotland, United Kingdom. 

SSgt Fagan promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in May 2015, and mobilized from June 2015 - July 2016 with Georgian Deployment Program Roto-2, in support of OPERATION FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, Afghanistan.  GySgt Fagan served as the 19-man Supporting Arms Liaison Team Chief, and the Team-5 Joint Terminal Attack Controller, controlling over 150 hours of ISR flights, Med-Evac flights, and Close Air Support outside-the-wire.

Upon returning to 3d ANGLICO, GySgt Fagan served as the Operations Chief from September 2016 until he was frocked to First Sergeant in May 2018. 

First Sergeant Fagan immediately assumed duties as Company First Sergeant of Company D, 4th Tank BN, 4th Marine Division aboard MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA.  First Sergeant Fagan served the Marines of Co. D, 4th Tank BN until June 2020 when the Company divested due to Force Design.

First Sergeant Fagan served as Company First Sergeant for Company C, 4th Reconnaissance BN in San Antonio, Texas from July 2020, until he was frocked to Sergeant Major in May 2022.

Sergeant Major Fagan immediately assumed duties as Sergeant Major of 6th ANGLICO, Force Headquarters Group at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.

Sergeant Major Fagan’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Gold Star in lieu of 2nd award, the Combat Action Ribbon, and the Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Insignia.  In addition, Sergeant Major Fagan holds the Foreign Security Force Advisor MOS of 0571.

Sergeant Major Fagan has been employed as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic in Southern California since 2008.
