Biography

 

First Sergeant Brian S. Zeifang
Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant, Maintenance Services Company

First Sergeant Zeifang is a native of Champaign, IL. He attended and graduated from Rantoul Township High School, Rantoul, IL in 1995. First Sergeant Zeifang enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1997 and attended recruit training at Golf Company, 2nd RTBN, MCRD San Diego. Upon completion of recruit training in January 1998 he completed Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA. First Sergeant Zeifang was transferred to MCAGCC 29 Palms CA where after completion of field radio operator’s course was assigned the military occupational specialty 2531, Field Radio Operator. 

Upon graduation in May 1998 First Sergeant Zeifang reported to 1st MAW, Okinawa Japan.  Here he was assigned to 1st Stinger Battery where he served as a field radio operator. 

In June 1999 First Sergeant Zeifang was transferred to Headquarters Battalion, Communications Company Camp Pendleton California where he continued his duties as a radio operator. 

In June of 2000 First Sergeant Zeifang was reassigned to 1st Recon Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA, where he executed the duties of platoon radio chief. During this time First Sergeant Zeifang was deployed to Iraq 2 times and supported both the 13th and 15th MEU(SOC). 

In August of 2005 First Sergeant Zeifang reported to Recruiting School, MCRD San Diego, CA. Upon successful completion Sgt Zeifang was assigned to RS St Louis, RSS Springfield, PCS Decatur, Decatur IL and began his duty as a canvassing recruiter. 

In December 2008 First Sergeant Zeifang successfully completed his tour of duty and was transferred to 1st MLG, Camp Pendleton, CA. He was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 1 and served as the Radio Chief.  In January of 2011 First Sergeant Zeifang was temporarily assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 7 where he served as the communications advisor for an Embedded Partnering Team working with the Afghanistan National Army. 

In December 2011 First Sergeant Zeifang was transferred to Inspector Instructor Duty at Landing Support Equipment Company Vienna, OH.  During this tour he executed the duties of Communications Chief, Equal Opportunity Representative, SACO and Armory Chief. 

First Sergeant Zeifang was transferred to Headquarters Battalion, Communications Company Camp Lejeune in February 2014 where he served as the Radio Platoon Communications chief, the Company Operations chief, Company Gunnery Sergeant and acting First Sergeant.

First Sergeant Zeifang was frocked to rank of First Sergeant on 17 March of 2017 and executed PCA orders to 2d Intelligence Battalion where he served as both Direct Support Company and Counter Intelligence/Human Intelligence Company First Sergeant.

In March of 2019 First Sergeant Zeifang was reassigned to MSC, CLB 23 and currently serves as the I&I First Sergeant. 

1stSgt Zeifang’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with (1) gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with (2) gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
