Marines from units across Marine Forces Reserve are participating in Innovative Readiness Training Old Harbor, Alaska, April 26 – August 6, 2016. IRT Old Harbor is part of a civil and joint military program to improve military readiness while simultaneously providing quality services to underserved communities throughout the United States.

Reserve Marines with 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, conducted their annual training requirements aboard Camp Atterbury-Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Indiana from June 8-19th. The Marines participate in realistic simulated police military tactics to stay ready to augment the active duty side.

Marines with 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve conducted exercise Arctic Eagle at Camp Grayling, Michigan, from April 4-14, 2016. The Marines joined various Army reserve units and the Danish Home Guard to improve interoperability by participation in life-fire ranges and defending against simulated terrorists attacks.

Marines with 1st Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, conducted exercise Nordic Frost in the mountains of Vermont at Ethan Allen Training Center from Jan. 5-14, 2016. More than 750 Reserve Marines from Maine to Western New York gathered together in the cold environment for their collaborative, annual exercise. During the exercise, Marines conducted multiple simulated combat scenarios in below-freezing weather to improve their offensive and defensive capabilities, execution of combat logistics and mountain warfare.
