From 31 July to 14 August, CLB 451 (-)(REIN) provides forward DS and GS logistics to JTF-85 IOT enable joint task force projection functions and conduct tactical sustainment to maximize maneuver element ability to execute area defense, offense and stability operations in support of the reestablishment of the legitimate border of Gorgas.

6th Communication Battalion 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Sgt. Benjamin Wagner with 6th Communication Battalion, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, plays the bugle during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Curtin Garvey Complex, Brooklyn, New York, Aug. 14, 2021. This ceremony was held in honor of the legacy and memory of Sgt. Maj. Michael S. Curtin and Gunnery Sgt. Mathew D. Garvey, Reserve Marines with 6th Communication Battalion, who made the ultimate sacrifice as first responders on September 11, 2001. Curtin, a police officer with the New York City Police Department, and Garvey, a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department, epitomized what it means to be a Reserve Marine, answering the nation's call to serve in uniform while also serving their local communities.
