New Orleans -- Marine Forces Reserve will observe the Marine Corps’ birthday, honoring 237 years of tradition and service, with a week-long celebration, Nov. 5-11.

Marine Forces Reserve will be presented with the French Legion of Honor by the Honorable Jean-Claude Brunet, Consulate General de France.
Tuesday, 6 Nov.

St. Louis Cemetery #2, Near Bienville St. and N. Robertson St.
Marines will conduct a wreath laying ceremony in honor of Maj. Daniel Carmick, the commander of Marines during the Battle of New Orleans.
Wednesday, 7 Nov.
6:30 a.m.
Marine Corps Support Facility
The Marines will be going for a three-mile motivational run through Algiers Point, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.
Saturday, 10 Nov.
200 Marines and Marine Band New Orleans March in the Bicentennial Parade through the City. After the Parade the Marines will hold a cake-cutting ceremony at the Convention Center.
