Age 23, Columbus, Ohio Lance Cpl. Schroeder died while conducting combat operations south of Haditha, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Force Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Columbus, Ohio. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he was attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). He died on August 3, 2005.

Seal, Cpl. Aaron L.

Age 23, Elkhart, Indiana Cpl. Seal died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Marine Forces Reserve in South Bend, Indiana. He died on October 1, 2006.

Seymour, Lance Cpl. Devon P.

Age 21, St. Louisville, Ohio Lance Cpl. Seymour died while conducting combat operations with the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), in Haqlaniyah, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Akron, Ohio. He died on June 9, 2005.

Sherman, Sgt. Alan D.

Age 36, Brick, New Jersey Sgt. Sherman died southeast of Baghdad, Iraq, as a result of combat operations. He was assigned to the Marine Corps Reserve’s 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group, Folsom, Pennsylvania. He died on June 29, 2004.

Shock, Lance Cpl. Jeremy S.

Age 22, Tiffin, Ohio Lance Cpl. Shock was killed while conducting combat operations in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Perrysburg, Ohio and attached to Regimental Combat Team-5, I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). He died on November 19, 2006.

Shoemaker, Cpl. Jared M.

Age 29, Tulsa, Oklahoma Cpl. Shoemaker died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve and attached to I MEF. He died on September 4, 2006.

Simon, Staff Sgt. Chad J.

Age 32, Madison, Wisconsin Staff Sgt. Simon died while conducting combat operations in Babil Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Madison, Wisconsin. He died on August 4, 2005.

Newark, Delaware Age, 43 Staff Sergeant Christopher K. A. Slutman was killed in action while conducting combat operations near Bagram, Afghanistan. Smith, Lance Cpl. Matthew R.

Age 20, Anderson, Indiana Lance Cpl. Smith died in a non-hostile vehicle accident in Kuwait when the HMMWV he was driving as part of a convoy to Camp Coyote in Kuwait struck a parked trailer. He was a reservist assigned to Detachment 1, Communications Company, Headquarters and Service Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group, Peru, Indiana. He died on May 10, 2003.

Smith, Sgt. David J.

Age 25, Frederick, Maryland Sgt. Smith died from wounds sustained while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, based out of Camp Pendleton, Calif. While deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, his unit was attached to Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan. He died on January 26, 2010.

Smith, Staff Sgt. Jeremy D.

Age 26, Arlington, Texas Staff Sgt. Smith died of wounds sustained while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, based out of Houston, Texas. While deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, his unit was attached to II Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD). he died on April 6, 2011.

Spencer, Lance Cpl. William D.

Age 20, Paris, Tennessee Lance Cpl. Spencer was killed while conducting combat operations in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Nashville, Tennessee and attached to Regimental Combat Team-5, I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). He died on December 28, 2006.

He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve in Akron, Ohio. He died on June 9, 2005.

Age 24, Bogalusa, Louisiana Cpl. Stewart died while conducting combat operations south of Haditha, Iraq. He was assigned to 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve in Gulfport, Mississippi. He died on August 3, 2005.

Age 24, Irasburg, Vermont Sgt. Strong died as a result of hostile action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to the Marine Corps Reserve’s 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia. He died on January 26, 2005.

Sullivan, Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J.

Age 40, Springfield, Massachusetts Gunnery Sgt. Sullivan died as a result of an act of domestic terrorism at the Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was assigned to M Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He died on July 16, 2015.

Swanson, Lance Cpl. Aaron M.

Age 21, Jamestown, New York Lance Cpl. Swanson died due to wounds sustained while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, based out of Buffalo, New York. While deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, his unit was attached to I Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD). He died on Feb 7, 2011.
