ABOUT 

The United States Department of Defense Arctic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program in partnership, with the Kodiak Area Native Association, will present “Arctic Care 2021”, a no-cost medical, dental, optometry and veterinary services program to the communities on Kodiak Island from May 5-13, 2021.  Arctic Care provides training opportunities to military units while providing incidental benefit to communities via no-cost healthcare.  The healthcare services will be tailored to the individual needs of each rural community.

Civil affairs teams participate in Mission Readiness Exercise

Marines of 3rd Civil Affairs Group, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, listen to a brief while participating in the Army’s 97th Civil Affairs Battalion Mission Readiness Exercise, March 28, 2015. The Marines worked in the counties of Perquimans and Bertie, North Carolina, helping communities by providing their civil affairs expertise in areas such as emergency management and disaster risk reduction. The training also helped Marines prepare for deployment, where they use their civil affairs skills to serve as liaisons and build relationships between the military and host nation governments.
