Burke Whitman, deputy commanding general of mobilization for II Marine Expeditionary Force and an Atlanta, Ga., native, here, Jan. 8, 2013. To the Marines of 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Gunnery Sgt. Barry A. Worster, the battalion's motor transport maintenance chief, serves as inspiration and a Marine to emulate. Reserve Marines from Company F, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment conduct census operations at a Bedouin camp in the Al Anbar desert near Al Asad Air Base, Iraq on Dec. 11, 2008. The Marines, using rudimentary Arabic acquired from DVD tutorial programs, were able to gain critical information on the itinerant residents who travel throughout the Coalition’s area of operations. The Marines completed their 7-month tour in Iraq in April 2009.
