Sergeant Major Jordan enlisted into the Marine Corps in April 1989.  He completed recruit training at MCRD San Diego in July 1989.  He graduated as the platoon honor man and was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class.  He then proceeded to the School of Infantry.  He graduated as the platoon honor man and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal.  He then reported for duty as a basic rifleman with 1st Battalion, 4th Marines.

In June 1990, while with 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, Lance Corporal Jordan deployed with the 13th MEU in support of Desert Storm and Desert Shield.  In May of 1992 Corporal Jordan deployed with the 11th MEU, where he served in the billets of Team Leader and Squad Leader.

In May 1993, Sergeant Jordan reported to Edson Range for duty as a Marksmanship Instructor.  While there he served in the billets of Marksmanship Instructor and Primary Marksmanship Instructor. 

In September of 1994, Sergeant Jordan reported to Security Forces School as a basic student.  Upon completion in August, Sergeant Jordan was ordered to Panama City where he served as the Sergeant of the Guard.  In June 1995, Sergeant Jordan reported to Marine Corps Security Forces Training Company.  Here he served as a Tactics Instructor. 

In February 1998, Sergeant Jordan reported to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines.  He served as a Platoon Sergeant.  While serving here he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and deployed to Japan for UDP.

In September 1999, Staff Sergeant Jordan reported to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines where he served as a Platoon Sergeant.  He again deployed to Japan.  Staff Sergeant Jordan completed two deployments with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines.

In March 2002, Staff Sergeant Jordan reported to Recruiting Station, Des Moines, Iowa.  Staff Sergeant Jordan served as a Canvassing Recruiter and NCOIC of Recruiting Sub-Station, Waterloo, Iowa.  Staff Sergeant Jordan was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in October 2003.

In March 2005, Gunnery Sergeant Jordan returned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines.  While there he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Fox Company.  Gunnery Sergeant Jordan deployed to Afghanistan.  In September 2006, Gunnery Sergeant Jordan deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He was later promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.

In June 2007, First Sergeant Jordan reported to Military Police Company, Headquarters Battalion, 4th Marine Division.  He served as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant.

In July 2010 First Sergeant Jordan reported to Combat Logistics Battalion-1 at Camp Pendleton California. He served as the H&S Company and Motor Transport Company First Sergeant. First Sergeant deployed to Afghanistan in October 2011.

In June 2015 Sergeant Major Jordan reported to 2nd Battalion 24th Marines, Chicago, Illinois.

Sergeant Major Jordan’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/Gold Star, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon w/two Gold Stars.
