Lieutenant Colonel Tom Przybelski entered the Marine Corps in 1995 after graduating from the Honors College of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School and assigned as an Infantry Officer after follow-on schools.
Lieutenant Colonel Przybelski served as a platoon commander with the 4th Marine Regiment Anti-Armor Platoon and again with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion. He commanded at the company level with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. Additionally, he has been the Inspector-Instructor for Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment in Springfield, Missouri, the Recruiting Station Commanding Officer in Frederick, Maryland, the Advisor Team Leader for 2nd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division, the Advisor Team Leader for 2nd Brigade, 215th Corps of the Afghan Army, and the Commanding Officer for Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division.
Lieutenant Colonel Przybelski has had one assignment as a staff officer as the Current Operations Officer at Marine Forces Special Operations Command.
Lieutenant Colonel Przybelski attended Naval Command and Staff College, Newport, Rhode Island in 2010, where he graduated with highest distinction and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies. He is also a 2014 graduate of Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, VA and is a Joint Qualified Officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Przybelski’s personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device - Second Award and the Purple Heart Medal.
