Lieutenant Colonel Vincent J. Teixeira is a native of Redding, California. He graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering before attending Officer Commissioning Course. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in August 2008 and subsequently completed The Basic School with Golf Company 7-08 in April 2009. 

LtCol Teixeira reported to MATSG-21 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL for Aviation Preflight Indoctrination followed by primary flight training with VT-28 at NAS Corpus Christi, TX and advanced helicopter training with HT-18 at NAS Whiting Field, FL.  LtCol Teixeira was designated a Naval Aviator in August 2011, selected for training as an AH-1W pilot, and completed initial flight instruction for the AH-1W Super Cobra with HMLA/T-303 at Camp Pendleton, CA. 

In April 2012, LtCol Teixeira reported to HMLA-369 “Gunfighters” where he initially served as a schedule writer, Current Operations Officer, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer.  LtCol Teixeira deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan with the Gunfighters from November 2013 to May 2014 where he logged more than 235 combat hours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 13.2 and 14.1.  Upon return from deployment, he completed the series conversion to the AH-1Z before graduating Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course (WTI) 1-16 in October 2015.  As a squadron WTI, LtCol Teixeira served as Pilot Training Officer, Future Operations Officer, and AH-1Z Standardization Officer. 

In April 2017, LtCol Teixeira reported to 1st Expeditionary Operations Group (EOTG), I MEF to serve as the Air Officer.  At EOTG, LtCol Teixeira trained four Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU) in aviation fires; air assault operations; Helicopter Rope Suspenstion Techniques; and Visit, Board, Search and Seizure operations. As the Air Officer, LtCol Teixeira developed the pre-deployment exercise plans and refined training for each MEU, including the first MEU to deploy with the F-35B in 2017. Upon completion of duties as the 1st EOTG Air Officer, he reported to Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University in Quantico, VA.  In June 2021, LtCol Teixeira graduated with a Master’s Degree in Military Studies. 

After graduating from Command and Staff College, LtCol Teixeira was assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 29 and subsequently reported to HMLA-167 “Warriors” in January 2022 for duty as Executive Officer.  LtCol Teixeira served for 18 months as Executive Officer of the Warriors before accepting orders to Headquarters Marine Corps Aviation to serve as the service’s Air-to-Ground Weapons Program Lead.  At the Pentagon, LtCol Teixeira was responsible for coordinating the development, funding, and fielding all air-launched weapons across Marine Aviation which required detailed coordination among all services, the Department of Defense, and industry partners. 

In April 2026, LtCol Teixeira reported back to Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton to assume command of MAG-41 Detachment A. 

Lieutenant Colonel Teixeira’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Gold Star in lieu of 2nd Award; Strike Flight Air Medal with Numeral “3;” Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star; and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star.
