Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Saglimbene is from Wyckoff, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Scranton in 2004 with a BS in Biology.  He served as an assistant college wrestling coach and high school biology teacher before attending Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December 2008.  

After completion of The Basic School and Basic Engineer Officer’s Course, Second Lieutenant Saglimbene was ordered to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB) in Camp Pendleton, Ca.  He served as Platoon Commander, Assault Breacher Vehicle Platoon, Mobility Assault Company (Co), and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 10.2 in October 2010.  He completed breaching and clearing operations in support of (ISO) 3d Battalion, 5th Marines in Sangin Afghanistan, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalion, and 3d Squadron, Second Calvary Regiment, U.S. Army in Kandahar.  First Lieutenant Saglimbene was then assigned as Executive Officer of Co C, 1st CEB and deployed to OEF 12.1 in February 2012, in direct support of Regimental Combat Team 6.  

After graduating from Winter Mountain Leader’s Course 1-13, Captain Saglimbene was re-assigned to Co C, 4th CEB, Lynchburg, VA, and served as Inspector-Instructor from April 2013 - August 2015.  Here, he managed the division engineer planning and mobilization of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Forces 13.2 and 13.3, OEF 14.2 (canceled), and African Lion 2015.

Following accession to the Select Marine Corps Reserves in September 2015, Captain Saglimbene graduated from Infantry Officer’s Course 2-16, LAR Leader’s Course 2-16, and was assigned to Co A, 4th LAR Battalion.  Here he served as Platoon Commander, Executive Officer, and Fire Support Team Leader.

After graduating from Marine Advisor Course, Major Saglimbene was mobilized ISO Freedom’s Sentinel and Resolute Support, deploying to both Georgia and Afghanistan from March 2019 – November 2019.  While aboard Bagram Airfield, he served as Officer in Charge (OIC) of Entry Control Point 3 and Team Leader, Georgian Liaison Team Rotation 9.  As the senior imbedded Combat Advisor for Company B, 43rd Georgina Infantry Battalion, he oversaw the planning and execution of all combat missions and force protection operations.     

From January 2020 – June 2021, Major Saglimbene served as OIC of West Coast Recruiting, Marine Corps Special Operations Command.  

Major Saglimbene accessed the Active Reserve Program in 2021 and was selected to serve as the Officer in Charge of Prior Service Recruiting Station One, 1st Marine Corps District, Garden City, NY from July 2021 – June 2025.  Here he managed Prior Service Recruiting Mission for the entire Northeast Region of the United States. 

From August 2025 – May 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Saglimbene served as the Special Assistant, Marine Corps Reserve, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower and Reserve Affairs).  

Lieutenant Colonel Saglimbene is a graduate of Command and Staff College, Expeditionary Warfare School, and holds a Master’s in Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg University. 

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat “C” Device (three gold stars), and the Combat Action Ribbon.
