Biography

Lieutenant Colonel Greg Veteto is a Texas native. He graduated from Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 2004 and commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 2008.

He has served operational tours with the 3d Marine Division and 1st Marine Division. As a lieutenant he served in 1st Battalion, 3d Marines from 2009 - 2012 as a Weapons Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer in Company C, deploying twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. He served as a Company Commander in 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, and deployed with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2017. He subsequently filled the duties of Operations Officer for the Battalion. Most recently, he served as the G-35 Future Operations Officer for the 3d Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan from 2024 - 2026.

Lieutenant Colonel Veteto's supporting establishment tours include two rotational instructor tours at the U.S. Naval Academy, where he taught in both the Weapons & Systems Engineering Department and the Physics Department; a recruiting tour as the Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station Lansing, Michigan; and service as the Assistant Inspector-Instructor for 1st Battalion, 24th Marines.
