Major Jared J. Haeg

Company D, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion

Major Jared J. Haeg is a native of Kennewick, WA. In 2012, following graduation from Southridge High School, he attended Washington State University. In 2016, he was commissioned through the NROTC program at the University of Idaho.
 
In 2017, Second Lieutenant Haeg received orders to 2d Battalion, 3d Marines as a Rifle Platoon Commander in Company E. He then assumed the duties of Executive Officer for Company E, deploying on UDP in 2018. In 2019, First Lieutenant Haeg assumed duties as Training Officer and Assistant Operations Officer, deploying on UDP from 2019-2020. 
 
In 2020, Captain Haeg reported to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Bangor, WA where he served as a Platoon Commander from 2020-2021. Captain Haeg was then assigned as Assistant Operations Officer from 2021-2023.
 
In 2024, Captain Haeg reported to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines where he served as the Company Commander, Company C from 2024-2025.
 
In 2025, Major Haeg reported to Company D, 4th LAR Battalion where he currently serves as the Inspector Instructor for Site Support Quantico. 
 
Major Haeg is a graduate of The Basic School, Infantry Officer Course, Expeditionary Warfare School, and Navy Command & Staff Distance Education Program. Major Haeg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Washington State University and a Master of Arts degree in Global Security from Arizona State University.
 
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of second award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
