Biography

Maj Kevin Benedict is a native of upstate New York. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in January 2013 and served as a Light Armored Vehicle Crewman in E. Co. 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. He attended LeMoyne College and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and was commissioned in May 2017. He completed The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course and checked into 2d Battalion, 6th Marines in September 2018. Maj Benedict completed Winter Mountain Leader Course in March 2019. He deployed with Marine Rotational Force – Europe as a rifle Platoon Commander from September 2019 to July 2020. Upon return from deployment, he served as a rifle Company Executive Officer and was selected to attend the Naval Postgraduate School beginning in June 2021. In June 2023, he graduated with a Master of Science in Operations Research and reported to Manpower & Reserve Affairs as an operations research analyst. Maj Benedict reported to E. Co. 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion to serve as the Inspector & Instructor in April of 2026 and currently serves in this billet. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
