Major Eric M. Dolan is a native of Hopkinton, Massachusetts. He graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. In 2019 he married his wife, Jocelyn Dolan. They have two children together, Rory and Myles. He attended Officer Candidates School and was commissioned in 2016.
After completing The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course, Major Dolan reported to 3d Battalion, 1st Marines in September 2017. As a Platoon Commander for 1st Platoon, India Company, he deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). While forward deployed from July 2018-March 2019, he led his platoon during Theater Amphibious Combat Rehearsal in Djibouti and served as Immediate Reaction Force Commander in support of Special Operations Task Force-West.
In March 2020, Major Dolan assumed the role of Executive Officer, Weapons Company and deployed with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command from August 2020-February 2021. While forward, he served as the Camp Buehring Liaison Officer; overseeing all battalion training and operations aboard Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
In June 2021, Major Dolan reported to Expeditionary Operations Training Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force and assumed the role of Assistant Operations Officer. Major Dolan oversaw the execution of four 31st MEU Certification Exercises and one Joint Interagency Intergovernmental Multinational Exercise, serving as Shoreside Exercise Control Officer in Charge for each. In November of 2023, he assume the role of Operations Officer and served as lead planner and Exercise Control Officer in Charge for one 31st MEU Certification Exercise.
In June of 2024, Major Dolan reported to 3d Battalion, 6th Marines and assumed the role of Company Commander, Kilo Company. He deployed with the 22d MEU from August 2025-June 2026, serving as the Air Assault Commander aboard the USS Iwo Jima. While forward, he executed two military-to-military exercises with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force, conducted sustainment operations ashore in Puerto Rico, and served as Quick Reaction Force Commander in support of operations in the Southern Command area of responsibility.
In July 2026, Major Dolan reported to Company A, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines and assumed the role of Inspector-Instructor.
Major Dolan is a graduate of The Basic School, Infantry Officer Course, and Expeditionary Warfare School.His personal decorations include three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and a Navy and Marine Corps Acheivement Medal.
