Major (Maj) Theodore "TJ" Misiolek is a native of Columbus, Ohio and reported to Officer Candidates School (OCS), Officer Candidates Course (OCC) Class 224, on 7 January 2017 to begin the initial training and screening process to be commissioned in the United States Marine Corps. On 17 March 2017 after successfully graduating from OCS, Maj Misiolek was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (2ndLt) and immediately reported to The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, VA to begin the six-month officer training program aboard Camp Barrett. After successful completion of TBS and graduating on 26 September 2017, 2ndLt Misiolek reported to Infantry Officer Course (IOC) 1-18 and graduated on 16 December 2017 with orders to report to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.

Upon reporting to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines (V12), 2ndLt Misiolek was assigned as a rifle platoon commander in Bravo Company and began training his platoon for deployment aboard the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit (22MEU). The 22d MEU deployed in December of 2018 and supported various exercises and real-world missions in the Mediterranean Sea. While deployed, 2ndLt Misiolek was promoted to First Lieutenant (1stLt) and upon the 22d MEU's return in June of 2019, 1stLt Misiolek was reassigned as Executive Officer of Bravo Company.

1stLt Misiolek served as the Executive Officer for Bravo Company during V12's work up and deployment to Okinawa, Japan in support to Unit Deployment Program - East (UDP-E) 20.2. While deployed, Bravo Company conducted various training exercises with host nation forces and participated in the Korean Marine Exchange Program (KMEP) exercise 21.1. V12 returned from UDP 20.2 in February 2021 and began the turn-over process to lay the foundation for the battalions execution of the Infantry Battalion Experimentation (IBEX) and deployment on UDP-E 22.2. 1stLt Misiolek served as the Assistant Operations Officer for the Battalion for the last four months at V12. In May of 2021 1stLt Misiolek was promoted to Captain and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for actions while serving in V12.

On 6 May 2021, Capt Misiolek checked in to Marine Corps Security Force Regiment (MCSFR) Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Company Charlie and took command of 4th Platoon where he began the process of building and training his platoon for deployment to FAST Company Europe (FAST EUR) in December of 2021. While deployed, Charlie 4 conducted various Embassy Engagement Exercises in the region and Bi-lateral training exercises with Spanish, Portuguese, British, German, and South African Police Forces. Upon Charlie 4's redeployment, Captain Misiolek was reassigned to the Regimental Operations Section where he took over the responsibilities as the Regimental Exercise and Force Deployment Officer. While in this position he was charged with planning all named exercises the regiment participated in as well as evaluating FAST and Guantanamo Bay (GTMO) In Lieu Of (ILO) platoon readiness for deployment. During the final months of his time at MCSFR, Capt Misiolek was selected to be part of the initial staff standing up the new FAST Battalion. He Served as the Operations Officer and Training Officer for the Battalion. In May of 2024 Capt Misiolek was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for actions while assigned to MCSFR. He then executed orders to the U.S. Army Maneuver Captains Career Course (MCCC).

Capt Misiolek Checked into Marine Detachment, U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence (MARDET MCoE) on 22 May 2024. Before beginning MCCC, Capt Misiolek attended and successfully completed U.S. Army Airborne School and graduated on 14 June 2024. Capt Misiolek then checked into MCCC and began his six-month course of study in company, battalion, and brigade level infantry and armor tactics, operations planning, and adversary doctrine to hone and refresh his skills in preparation for company command. Capt Misiolek graduated from MCCC on 10 December 2024. Upon graduation, Capt Misiolek executed orders to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines.

Capt Misiolek checked into 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines on 13 December 2025. Initially, he functioned as the Assistant Operations Officer until 28 February 2024 when he was reassigned as the Company Commander of Weapons Company. As the Company Commander, he led the company under the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force, Alert Contingency Mission (SPMAGTF-ACM) during their employment window. During this time, the company executed multiple bi-lateral and multi-lateral training evolutions with French, Spanish and Central American Nations. The company also deployed heavy machine gun detachments to Jordan in support of theater security operations. Following the SPMAGTF-ACM, Capt Misiolek deployed his company to San Diego, CA and supported the Chula Vista Station of U.S. Border Patrol securing the U.S. Border and assisting in the deterrence and apprehension of Illegal Aliens. Upon re-deployment, in April of 2026, Capt Misiolek was promoted to Major. Following Change of command on 15 May 2026, Maj Misiolek executed orders to Inspector and Instructor (I&I) Duty with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment.

Major Misiolek earned a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from The Citadel in May of 2016.

Major Misiolek is currently attending Liberty University pursuing a Master of Business Administration Degree specializing in Project Management.
