Captain Jared Swart

Captain Jared Swart is a native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Biosystems Engineering (Mechanical Option). He graduated from Officer Candidates School in August 2018 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. After graduating from The Basic School in March 2019, Second Lieutenant Swart received the 1302 - Combat Engineer MOS and reported to the Combat Engineer Officer Course (CEOC) at Camp Lejeune. He graduated from CEOC in November 2019 as the Colonel Gerald B. Conwall Memorial Award recipient and received orders to 7th Engineer Support Battalion. 

While assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, he served as Platoon Commander, 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company, and was promoted to First Lieutenant in August 2020. In December 2020, First Lieutenant Swart reported to Engineer Services Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 25, where he served as Utilities Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer until July 2022, when he assumed command of Engineer Services Company. After being frocked to Captain in November 2022, he continued to serve as Company Commander until June 2024. 

In October 2024, he reported to Bravo Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion and assumed command for four months before volunteering for a deployment in the South Pacific. In January 2025, Captain Swart was activated and attached to Combat Logistics Battalion 15 as the Future Operations Officer for Exercise Koa Moana 2025. He subsequently served as Officer in Charge for Koa Moana 2025, deploying to Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia. 

Following this deployment, Captain Swart returned to 4th Combat Engineer Battalion and was selected to attend the Blended Seminar Program, Expeditionary Warfare School, in Quantico, Virginia, from which he graduated in December 2026. In August 2026, he assumed command of Echo Company. 

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of a second award.
