Biography

Maj Plettner enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1994. Upon completion of Recruit Training and Basic Rifleman courses, PFC Plettner was
assigned to 3/3 aboard MCBH. LCpl Plettner deployed with 3/3 on UDP in 1995 and 1997. Cpl Plettner was then assigned to 3d
Marine Regimental Schools as a Primary Instructor for the Scout Sniper School.

Cpl Plettner left active duty in 1998 and completed his BS and MS in Computer Engineering at the University of California. He was
then employed by Western Digital as a firmware engineer from 2004 until 2006.

In 2006, he became an officer candidate and graduated from OCC 195. Upon completion of The Basic School and Assault Amphibian
Officer Course, Lt Plettner was assigned to 3d AA Bn aboard CPEN. Lt Plettner was selected as AA Platoon Commander for BLT 1/1
for the 13th MEU. Upon return from deployment, Capt Plettner assigned as Motor Transport Platoon Commander.

Capt Plettner was then assigned to D Co, 3d AA Bn aboard MCAGCC. One year later, Capt Plettner was assigned to HQ
MAGTFTC/MCAGCC where he worked as an assistant operations officer.

Capt Plettner was then assigned to HQ 4th MARDIV aboard MARCORSPTFAC NOLA where he worked as an assistant operations
officer. After assessing to the Active Reserve, Capt Plettner was later transferred to G-8, MARFORRES as a capabilities officer. Capt
Plettner was later transferred to HQBn, MARFORRES where he worked as an assistant Supply Officer.

Maj Plettner’s current assignment is as H&S I-I, Logistics Officer, and Supply Officer for 4th Recon Bn aboard Joint Base San
Antonio.
