Captain Robert T. Reeves
Force Dental Officer

Captain Robert T. Reeves earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1991. He received his direct commission in 2004 after 13 years of private practice of dentistry in Fort Worth, Texas. After completing his Naval Officer training, he was assigned to the 4th Force Service Support Group, 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Dental Company. During his time with 4th Dental Battalion, he became the 4th Dental Company, Officer In Charge where he was awarded the Vaughn award for excellence. 
 
In 2013, Captain Reeves was selected as the Officer in Charge of Operation African Lion in Morocco as a Marine Logistics Group asset. He continued to support 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, and 4th Marine Division throughout the United States. During his tenure with the 4th Marine Logistic Group, he qualified for the Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer designation. He then initiated and became the coordinator of the Fleet Marine Force Warfare Program for the Dental Battalion.

From 2015-2016 Captain Reeves mobilized to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and assigned to the Joint Task Force, Joint Detention Group as a Senior Dental Officer. Upon his return he was assigned to Expeditionary Medical Facility Dallas One. He assumed the positions of Assistant Senior Dental Executive and Detachment Director for five Detachments across Texas.

Captain Reeves was assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command, Corpus Christi during the COVID pandemic. He supported Navy Operational Support Commands and Marine Corps units in the North, South, and Southeast Regions of the United States and in Puerto Rico to maintain medical and dental readiness in our war fighters.
     
During the Armed Forces Bowl 2021, Captain Reeves represented the United States Navy along with other distinguished members of the military during the halftime ceremony enlisting 50 new recruits to each of their respective services.

Captain Reeves was chosen to become ship’s company ??? aboard USS Essex LHD 2 treating foreign military personnel with dental concerns and emergencies in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during the world’s largest international maritime warfare exercise, Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022.

Currently, Captain Reeves is on Active Duty Operational Support orders serving in the Force Surgeon’s Office as the Force Dental Officer and interim Director in Health Services Support at Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters. He also took on the position of Fleet Marine Force Warfare Qualified Officer Program coordinator while on board Marine Corps Support Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.
   
His personal decorations include Navy Commendation Medals and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. He is authorized to wear the Fleet Marine Forces Warfare Device.
