Major Kevin L. Huang

Major Kevin Liu Huang is a Marine Corps Reserve Logistics Officer currently serving as the Company Commander for Headquarters Company, 6th Distribution Support Battalion (DSB) in Charlotte, NC.

He commissioned through Officer Candidates School in 2016 and completed The Basic School the same year. Following initial training, he reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 26, where he completed on-the-job training as the Maintenance Management Officer. 

In 2017, Second Lieutenant Huang graduated as the Honor Graduate from the Logistics Officers Course. He subsequently joined Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 23 in Lathrop, California, serving as the Motor Transport Platoon Commander and later as the Company Executive Officer from 2017 to 2019 after his promotion to First Lieutenant. During this period, he supported multinational and expeditionary training exercises and operations, including Operation UNITAS in Peru, SABER STRIKE 18 in Latvia, and Integrated Training Exercise 4-19 at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms. 

Beginning in 2019, First Lieutenant Huang served on active duty orders at Headquarters Marine Corps, Installations and Logistics (I&L) at the Pentagon. Assigned to the Data Analytics and Visualization Cell, he supported Marine Corps modernization efforts in Conditions-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+). He was frocked to the rank of Captain in 2019.  

In 2020, he executed permanent change of station orders to Marine Forces Korea, where he served as the Logistics Plans Officer and participated in Combined Coalition Pacific Theatre (CCPT) in 2021. 

Captain Huang returned to the Selected Marine Corps Reserve in August 2021 and served as the S-4 for Marine Wing Support Squadron 473. In May 2022, he assumed command of Motor Transport Company and led the unit through training and readiness requirements, including Integrated Training Exercise 4-22, until relinquishing command in late 2023. Following command, he enrolled in Command and Staff College.  

In early 2025, Captain Huang mobilized to support Special Operations Joint Task Force - Central, which merged with Combined Special Operations Task Force - Levant to form Combined Special Operations Joint Task Force - Central, where he served as the J4 Operations Officer overseeing logistics operations. Upon return, he served briefly as the Regional Information Operations Team OIC for Marine Corps Information Operations Center in the Individual Mobilization Augmentee program, during which he was promoted to Major.

Major Huang’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College.
